Shimano XT Shifter - How to Repair - Disassamble - Teardown (left)
Welcome to velo.wien 's first Tutorial! In most cases of a non working Shimano XT shifter there is a chance to repair it. If an oilbath/shower didn't help, you can fix that issue by manual disassamble and cleaning.

Danke sehr. You saved my old shifter. I am so glad I did not try to take it apart. I could see what I needed from your excellent video. It was another case of a stuck pawl on a Shimano Deore DX left shifter - the 3x7 bike would not stay in higher gears. I just loosened a bolt so I could flip the whole assembly over on the handlebars, took off the shifter cover, bathed it in WD-40, patiently worked the pawl loose, wiped the shifter down, lubed it, and put the cover back on. Fantastic!
Danke für das Video, es ist zwar nicht die gleiche Schaltung ich habe eine Shimano 100GS (ST-M010) ist aber sehr ähnlich. Ich wurde beim zerlegen mehrfach unterbrochen und hätte sie selber nicht mehr zusammen bauen können ohne dein Video. Besten dank
Well done! I needed to see the paw that held the shifter from going from 3 to 2 to 1 as mine was going from 3 directly to 1. I think I got what I needed.
