Just got my TP 2500SHG in the mail this past week. Pretty excited to break it in. Absolutely love my TP 3000XG .

Heck yeah. I'm in the process of changing out rods ATM. Trying to have a more balanced out line up. More specific combos for certain situations vs having all the same type rods.

I ordered the same reel and it's a GEM but I still prefer my 19' Vanquish c2000S and c2000shg for my finesse work. The Twinpower is more than an ounce heavier than the Vanquish.

Yeah , but at these size reels that oz is barely even noticable. But I got this for a little of everything. I do a lot of saltwater inshore stuff and I wanted a reel that could do finesse stuff as well as fight some bigger fish so the core body allows me to do so without having to worry about possible flex with my lighter weight reels. ( my vanford and Vanquish ) not that I've had any feox issues with Shimano but just covering my bases lol Btw absolutely love my 2019 Vanquish, got the 2023 Vanquish about a month ago waiting for a rod for it .

@@artificialslinger9730 The Twinpower is definitely a stronger and more all-around reel. I move from S.Florida to P.A. so I'm mostly fishing for Trout, Smallies and Largemouth. That's why I prefer the Vanquish. I wouldn't bring the Vanquish near saltwater. The Twinpower is a beast of a saltwater reel. The Vanquish's just balance better with my UL and L Trout and Bass rods. I actually use my 1000 Stradic (U.S. version) at 6.5oz. more than my JDM Twinpower C2000shg 6.2oz. The Stradic holds more line and IMO, a fine reel for $199. For the bigger bass I use my 17' Exsence c3000mhg at 7.0 oz. I love the Exsence so much I purchased a second. Tight line's man!

@@philipfalco7304 nice. I've used my 19' Vanquish in saltwater alot and no issues so far. I use it mostly during late fall and winter targeting trout , reds and smaller snook. It has preformed perfectly. Butter smooth drag too I also have the stradic 1k have it paired with a custom 7'4 5-10 med light rod. 5lb braid 15lb leader for strictly seatrout Looking forward to the new stradic FM

@@artificialslinger9730 I'm not saying the Vanquish can't handle Saltwater; I just baby them a little bit. Have you ever owned the 17' Exsence C3000MHG? It's a darn good reel for Bass to Inshore. I can't speak for the 21' Exsence because I have two of the 17' so I didn't think it could get any better. I like it more than my Stella. I'm also looking forward to the Stradic FM. I'll probably get that in the 1000 size also due to my fishing style and I already own the 19' Stradic 2500 that has served me well. The only problem with the 2500 is I have to use a 7' or longer rod to balance it out. It fits nice on my 7' Tatula med.

@@philipfalco7304 all good , but I honestly I think with saltwater fishing you have to be kinda anal with your reels regardless if it's " saltwater " rated or not. Definitely getting the stradic 1k FM for sure

I hope you didn’t end up changing the drag washers. Felt washers are much better for light tackle applications.

I kept the felt until it went bad but now it's a carbonfiber. The trick for carbon is to add a little bit of " lighter weight" grease to them. Do that and they just as smooth as felt. Best part of carbon is they very rarely go bad.
