I've viewed a number of your video tutorials and they are all immensely helpful. Clear, straightforward, and step by step procedures. Greatly appreciate you doing them.
This has to be, by far, one of the best Di2 Integrated Cable videos out there - Bravo!
After being a curmudgeonly mechanical and rim brake holdout, I've just now started sourcing components for my first Di2 / disc brake build. Your videos have been so helpful because they are so clear. Thank you! :-)
Love it - simple and to the point. This is what people need, no nonsense videos :)
Thanks so much! That‘s exactly what i want, and you even gave me the exact modell numbers, so i don‘t have to search around and worry i might buy the wrong thing.
that is one great video to understand what you need and what options you have ! thanks alot
All your videos are top notch. Im looking to do the di2 upgrade by myself and this cleared up a few questions I had, thanks 😊
That's great in helping me with my new build! - Thanks
awesome tutorial
Thanks.... that was helpful!
great thanks once again
Thank goodness for ETap. Top video though. I am researching for an older racer (Masters) who bought 9150 fitted bike and has no idea .
For the sake of completeness - you can also plug a Di2 cable from one shifter into the other shifter to avoid need/expense of the y-cable and keep the four port JC41 at the bottom bracket (joining cables FD, RD, BT, STIs via 910)

Is the cable definitely long enough?

I was just about to comment. Can you run a cable from left to right then right to bar end unit then bar end unit down to 4 port junction at down tube. Cheers. 👍

@@charliewhelan9488 to clarify the 4 port junction has cable links to rear derailleur, front derailleur, battery and a "daisy-chain" cable. The daisy-chain links the STI levers but you also inline the charge/indicator/setting port and wireless module for that generation of Di2. As those components often come with their own cables, and you can buy lengths of cable separately, then you can get it to work length wise.
I have the following setup: from NDS shifter internally to junction box A, DS shifter to JB A, DS Shifter to downtube/junction box B. This only works when you have no additional shifters of course. This setup doesn’t need any additional splitters/junction boxes in the handlebar
For your last method are you saying you need 2 junction boxes (SM-JC41)? One in the stem/in handlebar and the other in the bottom bracket area?

Yah, that's what he was suggesting. This method makes the most sense to me, as you'll need to plug in four parts to function properly, left shifter/right shifter/bar end junction box/and bottom bracket junction box. So the SM-JC41 would be taking in all four wires into itself to pass all the signals to the proper parts. Hopefully that didn't confuse you more than it was helpful.
Hi, i am wondering to Di2 the bar end juction box with ultegra 6870 shifter that only have 1 port. 6870 shifter is cheaper so i thought i could compensate with extra Y split wire? Will it work?

The RS910 bar end junction is compatible with 6870 shift levers.
I have older di2 in my bike - ultegra 6870, battery is SM-BTR2. Will these two components EW-RS910 and SM-JC41 be compatible. I would like to have control in the handlebar instead of under the bridge. Thank you
So when connecting the wireless unit in the second method, there is no longer the need for an additional 150mm wire, correct?
Is the wireless unit WU-111 required? I don't need or care for the wireless feature but it that the only way to complete the connection?

The WU-111 unit is an option it is not required for the system to work!
Would you need this cable if you are running a 1x Shimano GRX setup?

If you want to use the bar end junction port then you can use the Y Splitter cable for the GRX 1x11 setup!

@@FreeToCycle big thanks!
Thanks you for the tutorial! But I have a doubt, in scenario number two, I understand that 3 holes are needed in the handlebar, is this viable for a carbon handlebar?, I think it would compromise its mechanical integrity. Thank you!
@FreeToCycle

The diagram would be fine for alloy bars not carbon, unless they came from the factory with the hole already there!!
