Just a friendly reminder that this piece is named the Kreutzer because Beethoven got into a drunken fight with George Bridgetower, the violinist to whom the sonata was originally dedicated, after Bridgetower insulted the woman that Beethoven liked. He named it after Kreutzer, a better violinist, purely out if spite. The more you know!

I was struggling, untalented, unmotivated lacking the ability to count after 8 years of playing the instrument. Watching Shigatsu made me realize that without emotion, music cannot tell its story. I learned this piece after 2 months. The practice was frustrating, but the results justified my near decade of work put into violin. Thanks you, Shigatsu, for reviving classical music for this generation.

People should understand that this piece is very difficult technically. Beginners shouldn't try something like this just yet; keep on practicing starting simple and going up in difficulty as you move on. If you wanted to learn this as your first piece, it'd probably take years.

I played the violin before watching this anime, it just inspired me more when I did watch. I play a completely different type of music than I used to. Now I play stuff more along the lines of this. I'm not NEARLY this good, I haven't even been playing for 2 years yet. But this anime helped me remember to add emotion to my music, and that it means the world to the audience, and that they can tell. I absolutely love all the music from this anime, from the actual soundtrack, to the songs they played. I will NEVER let this anime go.

The Megan Pixel She doesn't have the quality to be a teacher so she shouldn't. Being mad and visually upset has no benefiting effect for a person teaching any subject, so a teacher who does that a lot should switch jobs, or work on their problems back at 'home' (which are the roots of those negative behaviors.) So try not to be emotionally swayed if she does that. As long as you're enjoying drawing, and using her criticism to fix your art, then you're doing everything right so don't let it upset you

Same I though studying music in college would be fun. After all I love violin. Once I started college I learned that music majoring in college is not for your enjoyment. You have rules that didn't exist when it was just casual. You're being held to the standards of "masters" who have 10+ years of experience. Just because it was something I was passionate about did not mean I excelled. I quit and now play for fun. I don't need to be perfect with my intonation or my bowing. No one docks points for smiling. Not everyone is cut out for pro music. I will never have the finesse of someone who's studied 20 years. I won't and I'm okay with it. I just have fun now and leave it to the people who can handle the harsh criticisms

You know, there's something really different about learning classical music. It's like the notes have passed through generations of people, feeling the same melody materialize under their fingers, knowing that as musicians you all share a bond together, and the feeling of that is indescribable.

I've been playing the violin for now 10 years (including 3rd grade to present 12th), Your Lie in April reawakened the reason as to why I love playing the instrument (though my high school literally keeps everything at such a slow pace when learning music, to a point of boredom) I started to attempt this music about two weeks ago, I figured out where I should fit in page turns and listened to the recording multiple times to know the pace when reading the music/ being able to catch myself when I make a mistake. I have about half of the first of 6.25 pages (because the 7th page only has 3 lines XD) for the first movement.

There are tons of renditions of this song by other musicians on KZread. You, however, chose to listen to the video that is the rendition shown in the anime, has "Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso" in the title, and has a background and thumbnail of a character from the show. You can't honestly have expected it to not be full of comments about the show.

This song like Emi spoke about te performance of Kousei when he was little, this song touched my soul and made my heart feel so differently. Than ever have before, and I used to be afraid of arching this Anime again after I finished it again because last time I cried when Kaori begged kousei to not leave her in the roof of the hospital, and I didn’t want to cry again. But now I’m watching it from now on everyday no matter if I cry, because it’s a beautiful Anime, so sentimental, and lovely, filling my heart with all sorts of loving emotions. And it’s worth crying over it. So thanks to the artists or creator of this series, splendid job, no Anime is like this, this is the perfect Anime.

I'm a violist, and violas are AMAZING! The C string is gorgeous! You just have to put up with the (irritating) jokes about violas and then it's all cool :) Don't listen to your mom - instruments don't need to be flashy or well known to be beautiful. If YOU like the viola, stick to viola

I was 11 when I watched Your Lie In April, I only watched a few episodes but watching Kaori play, I thought she looked so pretty. I wanted to be just like that and so I got a violin and started playing! I might not be as good as this yet, but I’ve kept it up for 7 years now, and someday I’ll master this as a reminder for why I started playing ^^

I remember when I watched your lie in April two or three years ago. I always wanted to play the piano and we had one at home, but this anime gave me the inspiration and motivation I needed to finally start learning and I have to say that I've made quite some progress. I recently rewatched it because I felt like that motivation faded and it just reawakened it. crazy to see how much an anime can change my life lol

This violin sonata is notable for its technical difficulty, unusual length (around 40 minutes), and emotional scope. It is commonly known as the Kreutzer Sonata after the violinist Rodolphe Kreutzer, to whom it was ultimately dedicated, but who thoroughly disliked the piece and refused to play it.

I can't play any instrument and I don't know much about classical music but this music here feels different like more alive which sounds weird. But I guess it could because I only listened to the studying kind before or the music has an emotional hold on me. I was planning on writing my easy listening to this but I just stopped and got lost in listening to the music. I'll most likely listen to this when writing something more creative that I have passion for. Or just for fun. Really glad I found this anime though I can't wait to show my niece since she plays the piano.
