Hey mate, cheers for the shout out. Glad that info about the tb bracket was of use. I used some flat steel and riv nuts to move the shifter back a little, in my case the shifter cables from the rd5 where a little long to mount the shifter box from the rd5 in the rd1 oem location. Looks tidey and oem dude, you're not far away from being able to send it 🍻

Time management, I know how you feel. Cash restrictions too. I'm a pensioner & bought a house 6 months ago in the country, Australia, I used my superannuation built in 1910 exterior needs work. But a nice house has everything. My everyday driver is a 2012 i30 manual. A rubber gasket needs replacing in the steering column. The money I saved for the move, I had $2900.00 left over, that's how I bought my CRV 2001 manual. So many project's on the go, not enough time b to scratch myself, being in pain dealing with permanent injuries doesn't help me either. You know the old saying, bite off more than you can chew & chew like hell. Anyway that's enough about me, I wish you well with any project you undertake. Gradually doing it up. All i need to do is buy a rear bumper & the reversing b lights as the left side lail light & bumper damaged, then it's finished then all I need some nice all terrain tires. I gotta a save to re- register & insure my Hyundai i30 first then save $ 1100.00 for my council rates. I bought 2 recipricating saws 1 for wood & 1 for metal & a decent welder that does gas mig Tig & ARC so I can maintain my house & modify my CRV as a camper, roofbox, nudge bar & carry all on the tow bar.

I have a question, but I can’t find it on your channel, or the internet. Do you know where I can find a brake booster vacuum hose (that has the check valve inside of it), Or maybe to lead me in the direction of a fix? I have the unfortunate luck of having that part, for my 2000 Honda CRV, discontinued and I can’t get it at local auto parts, nor online. I believe the check valve has failed, because sometimes I have brakes and other times it goes to floor (when it does that, the next time I brake, my car dies). My husband replaced the brake booster, it has brand new brakes, he replaced the master cylinder, we bled the brakes, all 4, twice. It’s not losing brake fluid, so the only thing left can be the check valve. TIA

I may have one here. Otherwise it's probably a dealer item or something you'd have to get from the junkyard.

@@hondaresource I called my local dealership and they said that it had been discontinued. My problem with local auto parts stores is no one has 11/32 vacuum hose. I can order it online, but its 3 feet of straight hose and, as you know, it makes quite a few curves. I’ll try a few junk yards around here, if they don’t have it, I’ll give you holler back. *thanks for the reply*

Yo man, I have a question. I got a '99 I've put a lot of love into and it's real nice (leather seats, sunroof, oem nerf bars, skid plate etc etc) but i got it sittin right now for awhile. Everytime it gets up to running temp itll just shut off. I can't for the life of me figure out what it is. I've changed fuel filter, ignition switch, crank sensor, and I know it's not my fuel pump because I can hear it work and it worked fine when I put the new fuel filter in. Only things left I could think of would be the mass air flow sensor or main relay. But would the MAFS make it shut off at running temp like that without any other weird idling stuff? Any help at all is super appreciated!

  • @hondaresource

One of 2 things. Either main relay or the distributor. 99.9% sure it's one of those 2

@@hondaresource thanks a lot man. Ill check those out. I was thinking it could be main relay but i didn't think about distributor, could you explain how that would affect it? Im a bit of an aspiring mechanic (I just work on my own cars haha) so this is how ive been learning lol

@The Honda Resource the computer control systems really annoy me. The aftermarket is lame. Why or how someone hasn't made support with something as open source with something as accessible as a mega or micro squirt system seems like a wide open market...
