I loved this episode, as all the department heads thought it was going to be business as usual, and they were sadly mistaken.

Li Mama's expression when Shiyi questioned Wang Mama and Zhou Mama,,, too cute HAHAHA. Like she wanted to see what will Wang and Zhou Mama do to denies Shiyi's authority

The seamstress is in for a rude awakening. She really believes that Shiyi will be intimidated by them because she doesn't have the Marquis favor...lol if only they knew that she's the one keeping him at arms length. My girl didn't pull any punches. She exposed the corruption of the seamstress/the head cook. They truly underestimated her because she's an illegitimate daughter. Now they know that she isn't a pushover. She knows how to run a household/she knows how to judge right from wrong. I especially liked seeing her put the seamstress in her place especially after she was talking so much smack about Shiyi. It was time for her to suffer the consequences for her arrogance. Lingyi is still upset that he was sent away. Poor Zhaoying having to suffer because Lingyi is unhappy. Hopefully he'll made some progress with Shiyi soon so that Zhaoying doesn't have to suffer anymore...lol I love Zhaoying. The way he starts gossiping about Lingyi/Shiyi but refuses to elaborate on what he's already said is too funny. He's smart not to continue that conversation considering that Lingyi is in a bad mood right now.

Ha, it's his lordship who doesn't enjoy his wife's favor. They missed all the signs. They do not want to believe that this young upstart is enjoying her husband's favor. I was looking forward to when they would face the true Shiyi. None of them think that she does not need the favor of her husband / mother-in-law in order to take control of them. Shiyi will not ask permission to «clean up» the housekeeping. These two thieves obviously did not expect such a turn. Their whole appearance showed that they were doing a favor to Shiyi with their visit. Shiyi really might not have known much about running a household on such a large estate, but she knew exactly how much food and fabrics/embroidery cost. The explanations they gave could pass for Lianfang/her servants, but not for Shiyi. She knew too well the value of money and was not going to allow stealing with impunity. I think the rest appreciated how quickly, decisively and without unnecessary humiliation / insults, the new mistress figured out the state of affairs on the estate and put the presumptuous aunts in their place. You will not deceive the new mistress. The «naive» girl had an iron grip and a determined character. I feel sorry for Zhaoying, he fell under the hand, because Lingyi did not work out with his wife. Shiyi dealt a serious blow to her husband's pride, no one else was so happy about his departure. He used to refer to work to avoid unwanted visits. With Shiyi, this is a way to save face, and so far not a good one. Zhaoying and General Fu are really bursting with curiosity, what did the beloved little wife do since he was so angry. Previously, after visiting his wives, he was rather sad / tired, morally devastated, but never angry. They will have to wait out the storm quietly.

@@Irynash11 yes, they're oblivious to the fact that it's him who doesn't have his wife's favor. They really assumed that him leaving was his choice/not the other way around. It just shows they don't know him at all. They're judging a situation based on their standards rather than the reality. When the head seamstress told them that they didn't have to worry about Shiyi because she doesn't have his favor...she was about to find out just how WRONG she was...lol They've been judging Shiyi based on her status so they looked down on her. I blame the GM. The way she disregarded Shiyi contributed to the servants treatment of her. Now they're about to find out just how strong, willful and decisive she is...lol When she called them out for stealing I couldn't stop laughing...she put them on blast big time. Shiyi was brilliant in how she handled things. She rewarded the first servant for her hard work/honesty. She then turned around/punished the other two for their dishonesty in running their departments. They were way out of their league...lol My girl handled her business/then properly dismissed them. Zhaoying was put in an awkward situation because of Lingyi's attitude after being dismissed by his wife. He didn't know what to do especially since his work wasn't up to par for an angry Lingyi. It's funny how Zhaoying/General Fu responses to the situation now...it's always what did Shiyi do now? They know her every move/action impacts Lingyi...they just never know if it's going to be positive or negative. They just know that she effects his attitude. This is new territory for them.

I love when Shiyi takes on the bearing of Madam Xu - her polite but stern take down of the maids, the way she gestures to Dongqing to dismiss them gives me all the tingles.

@@arilu89x their first problem was that they underestimated her. They thought because she was considered low birth they could be dismissive of her. I blame the GM for how the maids treated her. They took their cue from her. The way she treated Shiyi was the same dismissive attitude the maids had towards her. The GM gave Lianfang the power/authority of the legal wife which rightfully belonged to Shiyi. Little Miss seamstress took this as a sign that she wasn't favored by the GM or Lingyi. She was wrong...lol Shiyi didn't need Lingyi backing her up. She was able to handle those women all on her own.

@@shontelagrone8713 I sorta wish they went before GM so she could show how inept Lingfang had been at running the household. 2 Sr maids stealing right under her nose and ShiYi could say that she only demoted them but didn't cane/expel them to save [Lingfang] face and I would like to see the acrobatics that GM would have to perform to cover for Lingfang. Because somehow it wouldn't be her fault. But this is the same easily swayed Sr Maid who gave away the legal wifes brocade either. I've watched the series so many times my brain like this think of these type of alternate scenarios..lol

Yeah i feel its overdone. Song of Youth took it even a step further - she was so flawless and solved all the problems. new Life begins was more refreshing she really didnt do anything was like buddies with everyone then stronger female came and uprooted all these bad habits.
