Shetland's Brochs

Those mysterious towers, dating back over 2000 years, found on the west coast, Western and Northern Isles of Scotland - these are the brochs. It is not certain what they were used for. In this video we look at some of Shetland's brochs, including Mousa, Clickimin and Culswick.

These structures are magnificent. They don’t take away from the beautiful landscape, they look as if they belong there.

What is the name of the woman who presents these videos. She's really excellent and it's a pity she's not acknowledged.

Wonderfully described. Nice video :) Was wondering, are there any public transport options in Lerwick? What if I just go for a trip without car.. Thanks :)

Many thanks for your kind comment. Yes, there is a bus and ferry network in Shetland - go to zettrans.org.uk for timetables. You will have to be prepared to walk perhaps some distance from the nearest bus stop to see the many archaeological and historical sites.
