Are you sure you understand the very concept of a good show? Or of Sherlock Holmes? Cause this show, i fear, is objectively terrible. It has laughable writing and is famous for being one of the worst Adaptations of all time; you just didnt noticed cause it uses what experts call "Manipulative, addictive Writing". For more infos, check out Hbomberguy. The editing on this is great. The transition from “who was the first?” straight to Sherlock’s face? Perfect.

I loved that series. They got the character Sherlock Holmes down perfectly and Watson is, well, Watson!!!! I know all actors have moved on, but it was fun to watch while we could. 😁 The actors, writers, directors and producers did a fantastic job with the this series! Love it!

I grew up reading Sherlock Holmes and never thought I would find a match with the perfect imaginary Sherlock in my head until I watched this series.....Benedict is just phenomenal🙌 And yeah all the characters in it(esp dr and moriarty-my personal favs)

In most case, the book is better than the movie adaptation BUT in that case, making Sherlook guessing alone that Watson need a flat-mate is absolutely brilliant.... making Sherlook even more of an interesting character....

So one of my GCSE texts was Sherlock Holmes ‘The Sign of the Four’. My essay on the homoerotic nature of their relationship got me an A*

Well I live in India, we had two choices for our essay in Grade 10, I did on which the teacher didn’t write, she hadn’t taught that book in years. I got failed for not doing the essay on her favourite book ( 3 men in a boat). The other one on which I did was THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK.

My only disappointment with "Sherlock" is that I didn't start watching it years ago! I'm sure I probably heard of it and dismissed it (quite erroneously on my part!) as "yet another" version of Sherlock Holmes, and that was that. But several weeks ago, I decided to give it another viewing on Netflix....and fell in love. Honestly, I have not been this excited about a new show in years...well I say new...new to me. I knew nothing of Cumberbatch...Freeman I knew as Baggins...which I absolutely adore...but the two together as Watson and Holmes...purely magical to me. I am in love...hopelessly. I have been watching...and re-watching, trying to pick up every little detail. I am totally besotted! I cannot wait for series four, and there are very few shows that I have the tolerance to wait so long in between fresh episodes for. But this "Sherlock" is one I will definitely always watch and gleefully anticipate...no matter how long I have to wait. Hurrahs, thumbs-up, and kudos to the creators and cast!

I was channel hopping when I saw the first episode and I was close to going past it but decided to take a look to see what a modern version would be like and I was hooked within minutes.

@@DarkLordDiablos ...You cant get better Sherlock-Coverage than Hbomberguys Essay on it BUT Hbomberguy kinda messed up with the order in which he covers things, so i recommend jumping to Part 3 or 5 for a good Start.

well, here's for late to the party: watched the first episode today and loved it!!! on the bright side, i don't have to wait for episodes. on the down side, the fandom's probably simmered down considerably.

I will always adore Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes but I cannot deny this man's chops. He captures the methodical, antisocial and mild neurotic qualities Holmes has though I do wish he had more of a dramatic flair of a thespian the literary Holmes is occasionally known for

Benedict and Martin aside, i really enjoyed Louise Brealey's (molly hooper) performance. So awkward in the nicest way possible. So shy and comletely devoted to sherlock and her job. This character wasn't in the books but i don't mind her at all. Also it's always surprised me how this girl works in morgue. Like with dead people. Holy shit, she must be tough on the inside

I miss this show so much!! I hope they make a fifth season at some point. This is such a rare and beautiful series. One of a kind.

Johnlock #1 proof: Remember that in the hounds of baskerville episode . Like throughout the season Sherlock is the one deducing facts about everyone. Every little detail about their body but John was the first one to deduce Sherlock (aside Mycroft can do too but not loudly confessing it) . John loudly confesses it by "You turn your coat collar up; with those mysterious cheekbones to act cool". Something like that ; sorry for not giving the exact words but Sherlock was quite surprised as He never thought that someone would observe him sooooo much. #2 proof: John counting the number of messages sent to sherlock by irene.

Sherlock is a sociopath because he said it about himself? Stop saying this. He never was one. It's also stated by the authors that Sherlock is not a sociopath, he would like to be one, but he isn't, because of the reason, that noone can define himself. I don't think there are "lovable" sociopaths, they are mostly not good people.

I've never watched this but the characterizations are impeccable. Will have to check it out.

Watched all the episodes in three nights without stopping, I've already watched the episodes over and over again, read loads of fanfictions of imaginary cases non slash etc, love it.

SHERLOCK! I like Benedict Cumberbatch. He's awesome

The step back John takes when Sherlock mentions his leg at 3:49 is too much for me

The moment I fell in love with The show

John just wanted a flat share and he suddenly became a consulting detective/doctor with Sherlock.

Cumberbatch isn't conventionally handsome at all & yet I find him incredibly sexy. The first time I saw him, in Atonement, I thought he was hideous, but now having seen everything he's done, my opinion has definitely evolved. His looks are an acquired taste & tied directly to his exceptional talent.

Yeah it's the same on than yesterday but at least it shows that they're listenning to us for adding that wink ^^

Fantastic series; I never get tired of watching this episode. Brilliant from start to finish.

Do they explain how Mike knows Sherlock? Because that would be an interesting story!
