This game is actually the opposite of other games where in it teaches good wholesome morals and how to be human, it actually makes you curious about the real world and makes you want to interact with other humans and the environment like Ryu lol

Shenmue I/II were among my favorite games growing up. I didn't have any way to play Shenmue III but I was able to get the experience (for better or worse) by watching this video. Thanks for putting in the time to create this. I'll be back for your Shenmue IV playthrough.

I still remember when I Played shenmue in the first time on my dreamcast. The graphics in this game were the best in that time. dreamcast had so much potential, could it be much better than ps2 if sega didn't fail it.

It was a mistake to try to compete with Playstation from the begining. Dreamcast was a unique console because it had something that PS2 didnt have: simple arcade fun. Dreamcast may have lived on if Sega would focus more on that aspect. Playstation was your console for long story driven games.

Ryo always cracked me up with " Huh?" He said this nearly every conservation he had with the community 😂 thank you for the video!

So happy memorys to hear the old soundtracks and to see this old game style

Thanks for cutting out the slower parts; it helps make this game more entertaining. If there's a 4th game, I hope the ending will show some actual progression toward Ryo finally manhandling Lan Di. I hear that Shenmue anime is looking pretty good. Maybe they'll finish this series' story that way.

I bought Shenmue 3, but to me, it was very difficult and I found the tasks very annoying to maintain. However, I enjoyed watching this gameplay. I feel like I finally completed the game vicariously :D

I am stunned that Shenmue has a training dummy for the One Inch Punch. That's one of Bruce Lee's most powerful moves. Whoever created Shenmue must've been a Bruce Lee fan

I don't know how many people are disappointed with this game but I do know a lot of them are. One thing is certain no matter how bad it is, I'd love to play it over and over again only for the music themes.

This 3rd game is such a weird combination of overall good pretty graphics and gameplay mechanics from 1999. Guess most of the budget went into graphics

so epic games has gathered us have a good time

You could put Oblivion background music and it'd fit perfectly lmao

People complaining about there not being any fighting. He just skipped a lot of parts to get on with the walkthrough. There is a dojo in the game and mini games that you play including battling masters around the village It’s pretty dope. The game isn’t perfect , but as a person who loved growing up with martial arts especially one with a great story is great.

I played the epic store version didn't have achievements and this walkthrough is just the summarize of the the story.

To everyone complaining, Yu Suzuki did his best and only made this game cuz fans wanted it. On a super small budget this is what you get unfortunately. I do think even with the small budget they could have made some better story decisions however

I NEED HELP WITH THIS GAME; I made it up to the chickens part. Watching your video it only shows X and B as the buttons to press however in the version I downloaded it has all 4 buttons X Y B A plus the bugs in the game make it impossible to get passed it. Anyone else have this issue? Anyone else stuck at the catching 10 chickens part?

For the record he's not going to kill Lan di, but he's going to kick his ass all the way. Lan di will be beaten though. Ryo is not going to go this far to kill him. His training taught him a lot. Not once did Ryo say he will kill him.

Probably just you because i checked between 3h and 5h its perfectly in sync.

We should reach the intended part 10 by 2120. We will be dead. I just wish they would end the story.

Some say that keyboard + mouse control for this game is terrible. Would You agree? How was it for You? 2. According to Steam, game requires 100 GB HD space. Is that really so? That's a LOT of HD space... 3. I haven't played in previous two parts of Shenmue game - is there a chance I would enjoy it despite that? 4. I noticed that sometimes game was loading pretty long for You. Do You have good hardware and that game is so demanding? That's all. As sale on Steam ends on 25.11, I would be grateful for your reply. Shenmue best played with controller i really don't remember the space required playing the first 2 parts will make you enjoy it even more, but if you are not planning on doing that you need to have at least a basic idea about the story i didn't have any issues with loading, hope it helps.

I love that Ryo is still completely unable to draw any logical conclusion in this game lol also I’m losing I over this small isolated mountain town of 50 people that has MULTIPLE mysterious bookies and tourist traps 😂😂 Guess they retconned some stuff.

Shenmue 4 should be a huge curve ball where you play as Iwao Hazuki and go through all of his backstory including his connection/relationship with Lan Di

I love this game, so sad it's incomplete, it started all good and shiny. Then they released the game for playstation 4 and PC, thanks to you I'm able to see the game at least, thanks so much.

(Spoilers) I thought Shenhua was goin to save Ryo. I guessed he was going to fight Lan Di but be defeated and about to be murdered and then Shenhua was going to use her mysterious hidden power somehow to save him at the last moment (the plot hints at one point, she has some kind of mystical power, like when making that tugh talk in the village). Or that maybe the grandmaster was the one saving Ryo, at the expense of his life at the hand of Lan Di. Anyway, Im so grateful you uploading this!

This isn’t as good as part 1 or 2 But the colourful graphics are still beautiful and the music too 👍 Can’t forget the dialogue lol

This is still great. Huge improvement in all aspects compared to Shenmue 2. But yes if you compared to current AAA games nowaday, this is way back. But I think that was because the studio game wasn't have enough fund to create a AAA games.

I wouldn't say it's a huge improvement over Shenmue 2 in all aspects. Shenmue 2 definitely had a better story. But the real life simulation aspects of Shenmue 3 are definitely better and we need Shenmue 4.

Was thinking about getting this game, recently played the first two games after found my dad's Dreamcast. Wow, its like they didn't even try to modernize the gameplay and make the graphics a bit worse

I think that the 4th installment will have Ryo and Lan Di realize that they both are wrong and that it was that woman in the red dress that killed Lan Di’s father. Both will team up to bring her down. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Shame the first game was revolutionary and spell binding and emotional. This is like... Meh. First game is literally my #1 game ever, ever. Nobodys as disappointed as I am, the first game raised me essentially. I waited more than 20 years for a so so game... Such a shame. Ill just watch this play through instead of buying it.... So sad to wait 20 years for this... First game set the bar for open world games, GTA devs stated once they were massively inspired by the first game. What inspiration can you get out of this? Its NOT a bad game or a game Id call garbage, I am of course a die hard Shenmue fan but simply cant play this. I listen to the soundtrack from time to time, such a shame this game wasn't amazing like the first. R. I. P. Shenmue Ill watch this till the end and expect Lan Di Sama to have his head cut off...... Oss! Peace.

can't expect all the original creative team to stick around for decades. I'm just gratetful i even discovered Shenmue 2, it was basically unheard of where i lived and i think i found it in the clearance bin at a toy store. Masterful game!

It has a lot of fights, actually. This youtube not only rushed and skipped all side quest, he also skipped all training and optional fighting to focus on the story for this video.

Steam has this game onSale for $16.- bucks i’ve heard of it & Seems story driven which i like 🕹 i’ll watch the first 3 to 4 hours and make a decision 🇵🇹

1 and 2 are honestly soo much better this wasn’t as good

I’m about an hour and a half in so far and I don’t see anything too horrid about the game. It seems very similar to the other 2. Continuing the story along just fine. I like the soundtrack. I’m curious to keep watching and see why everyone seems to have such a negative opinion about it.

@@grindhouse53 I don't really know how they could have told the story in just one game. The story is supposed to be 11 chapters and Shenmue 1&2 had only told about 5 chapters. How were they supposed to tell more than half of the story in just one kickstarter game? Either they would have had to cut out most of the story, so that fans would have never known what the actual story of Shenmue was supposed to be. Or I guess they could have told the story as a Telltale Games type of a game, so that it wouldn't have played like a Shenmue game at all. I guess people who only cared about the story would have been fine with that. But as a person who loves Shenmue mostly because of the gameplay, I would have hated that. I'm glad that they chose this route instead. When they're making Shenmue 4 they don't have to start everything from scratch, so they won't need as big of a budget as they needed for 3. They have tons of gameplay mechanics already programmed and tons of 3D models that they can re-use when they're making Shenmue 4 so it should be easier and cheaper to make the next game. So I'm glad that we didn't get a crappy final game, but instead there's a chance that they can tell the whole story with games that actually play like Shenmue games.

@@grindhouse53 We don't know if there will be a Shenmue 4. We know that Yu Suzuki wants to make it. Time will tell if he finds a way to make it. If not, perhaps the Shenmue anime will tell the full story. Either way I'm glad that Shenmue 3 actually played like a Shenmue game and not like a Telltale game or something.

I played Shenmue 1&2 in 2005 on my Dreamcast. After so many years of waiting. Shenmue still hasn't been able to touch a hair of Lan Di. I think, after this part 3, next time Shenmue should find a MMA master to learn instead of just learning KungFu , traditional Chinese martial arts like part 2 and 3. ❤😊 But I'm not sure if I can live until Part 4 become true.

The only reason I bought this is because it slipped under $5 at PSN. I dont think fans and critics wouldn't have been so harsh if the ENTIRE game didnt take place in some corny country side. This game felt like a chore. So much time passed that I didnt even have momentum going INTO the game. I honestly just went in with the hope that maybe I can start to dredge up the feelings I had when playing part 1 and 2... but I wasn't even 20 when I played those. I was a kid without the stresses of life that I have today. So now, gaming is more of a casual activity for me. I am willing to let this game slide if they made a part 4 where they actually did something to bring the mechanics and controls and movement up to date. Listen, I have nostalgia for the original games and 1999 and 2001 and all that, but I paid for a playstation 4 and 5. I dont want to play something on it that gives me Dreamcast reminiscing. The whole game is about you just practicing. We're over that and you're going to need a lot more if you ever expect to see this series come to the end of its fruition... if thats even a plan at this point. I feel back for anyone who backed Shenmue 3 and got the game that came out.

Hi, the game can take anywhere between 18 and 25 hours to complete in full. what i put in the video is the storyline skipping all the training money making and exploring. I hope it answers your question.
