There's a definitely a theme of doing good thoughtlessly in this game. In Ningguang's hangout, we learn just how much dropping the Jade Chamber hurt her. We also learn that she would do it again to protect Liyue.

Shenhe is one of my favorite characters now, her backstory is very sad but interesting and she's actually kind of funny. Especially her teapot dialogue, the 'good morning' option leads to her asking if the birds disturbed you and if you want her to silence them for you XD.

yea but I think Shenhe would win, since although Childe is strong he's still ranked the 11th in strength among the harbingers and we already know shenhe was born inhumanly strong and is probably adeptus/archon level in strength if she releases her true power

@@inthenameofcontractlendmem983 also, she has been trained by adepti and knows adeptal arts, and I know childe also learned from the Abyss but Shenhe is quite a bit older than him and is basically trained to kill the abyss monsters, i just think she has the advantage in both experience and knowledge and also sheer power

to anyone that might be confuse. the father didnt sacrifice shenhe willingliy if you read the ragged notes you can see that after he summon the evil seelie he said he was willing to sacrifice himself but the seelie said that shenhe has the curse of calamity and maybe she was the reason of the mothers death.

Personally, I think that if the adepti hadn’t took her in then she indeed would’ve become evil, or as you said, followed a path of revenge

I think she can still become a threat if the ropes are cut. By the hand of the Fatui, or the Abyss Order. They wouldn't establish such a big detail unless they plan to use it down the road.

Sorry, old thread, but I just had to comment on that, what if the ritual had worked out in the way he hoped and his wife was resurrected? Wouldn't anyone be able to see that your wife will probably hate you forever for going against her wish and killing your daughter? I sure as heck wouldn't want anyone sacrificing my children just to bring me back.

I loved her from the very beginning and she has, hands down, one of the most intriguing stories in the game. And the archon quest was just gorgeous! One of my favorites now, gameplay AND character wise

Her backstory is so sad and dark yet so interesting. She immediately became one of my most favourite characters after I played her story quest. Glad I pulled for her, even of it cost me my Ganyu savings.

I swear this is just Dainsleif’s youtube channel where he reads us the knowledge from the boughs of the Irminsul tree.

Shenhe definitely would of been different person if her path swayed. Love how you retold her origins, and how your Shenhe is used as a cryo dps you saw that potential in her paired with right team if course, everyone else is support support. When she comes back next year I'm definitely pulling for her (especially since I'm not good at using Ganyu aka any archer characters even she is broken I'm not metaplayer) so i could use a good Cryo unit beside Kaeya.

One of the best quests I have ever played in my almost 26 years of gaming and the many hundreds of games I have played.

In the future Mihoyo will release a Shenhe alter, free of the ropes and become a berserker class main dps.

I really...REALLY want to see that. A Ropeless Shenhe being unleashed by either the Fatui, or the Abyss. That would be such a dark plot thread hanging on her when they revealed she had to be subdued due to her past.

Good idea...but...all playable characters are friendly with traveller. So...this evil Shenhe would need somehow to become friends with traveller. Still...evil Shenhe would definitely try to kill her father and not sure if traveller would interfere with it.

Indeed a very interesting story. Really like her story : not only light and joy, but many sadness and darkness. And in the end Indeed we will never know what would happen if the ritual was completed and shenhe was kill by the beast : the mother resurect ? Or is it just a lie and something far more horrible happen ? And very good video as usual !

I rather suspect the demons “life transference” only gave him that life’s energy. Thus the only resurrection to be had, was his.

I am not very an emotionnal person, due to a serious lack of empathy and stuff (autism goes brrrr), but I don't know. When I listen to her story or to the opera, I feel so fucking sad. I relate so much to her story. That's probably why I love her so much, and I love playing as her so much.

metaphorically, shenhe's father was the demon that wanted to consume shenhe. but her will towards the good prevented her from the pursuit of vengeance.

Yeah, Cloud Retainer seems to have been the catalyst of her path to heroism.

@@michallebel3236 just because they have a depressing backstory that doesn’t mean they aren’t villain, like most of them are willingly to commit horrible things to get their goals and sometime they don’t really care about the victims who suffered from all of this whatsoever, the Inazuma archon quests and even the recent Chasm archon quest are huge examples of this.

“I wasn’t trying to be a hero. I was just trying to protect you.” Lore wise she is is really powerful and support wise her aid is likewise powerful. Logistically there are already a slew of powerful 5 star cryo characters and if you have another one then you have to compete with the others. Sells wise making her more powerful or main DPS will pull people to her and away form other 5 star characters or if she is less powerful then other main DPS’s then why get her anyway? Putting her as a support makes it so she doesn’t draw away from getting other cryo characters that already fill the role of main DPS. She works well a support that can enhance other characters and greatly enhance cryo Characters even more so giving her a niche role of support for those who love cryo teams. There are work arounds where her ability can equally empower those not of cryo through her nephew. (I forgot his name) Anyways that’s my take on it. You also have to take into account that lore wise traveler is a lot more powerful, but in the game he is more in the middle or subpar to other 5 star characters. (Edit) lastly the quote I gave at the beginning can be conducive of one who is willing to be a support character and doesn’t necessarily want to be in the center spot light or main protagonist. Either way I enjoy her story and game play even though I am still working on getting a team that would be more complimented by her aid.

Hey TH! What are your thoughts about the news that the new "censored" outfits will be the one that the characters will be wearing during cutscenes? I thought we global peeps would be safe but it appears not.. (we still get to choose what we play around with though. @@TeyvatHistoria yeah.. but it is what it is :/ My opinion on the outfits: I actually ended up loving Jean's new outift, it actually resembles Ganyu and Kujou Sara's halter neck style which i absolutely adore :') Amber's is fine, just a little covering up of her chest. I don't have Mona so i can't see for myself how she looks The most unfortunate for me was Rosaria, it's like Barbara and sister Victoria finally got her to attend choir practice haha!

Shenhe didn't kill the demon, Cloud Retainer did.

Shenhe age? 5 year + 7 Year + 1 Year = 13 years old. 5 years old when she was found by Cloud retainer in the cave. 7 Years later: when she return to her house, and she found out her dad died 7 years after she disappeared. 1 Year later: when she meet the traveler, and cloud Retainer mentions when shenhe secretly left the mountain to find her dad a year ago.
