I just wanna say, this song and more specifically this cover got me back into guitar. 3 years ago when this came out I was just going into college and didn't have much money. I broke down and bought a cheap guitar and started playing and now I can play most of Eddie's songs and have been buying, learning and watching his covers since. @Vladimir Putin Google how to use alternate tunings. Also for alternate tunings as a general rule of thumb tune the string up or down the way it's closest to originally. For example, Tuning your A string to G you would tune down as you only have to go down 2 semitones and not up 10. All you need is a tuner. For the tuning of this song every string tunes down

@Vladimir Putin If you mean a capo no, a capo changes the key by holding all of the strings down on a certain fret. If you want to deaden the sound from your string you will have to mute it with either hand, depending on which is easiest for that section. Or work on your dynamics and control how hard you pluck a string as this affects how long the note will last.

Fingerstyle is the art of playing guitar without using a pick. It allows you to play multiple strings at once which makes it sound as though you are multiple guitar players in one.

"Fingerstyle" also tends to have the connotation of playing the melody ( singing ) part of the song at the same time as the background chords, which is actually very hard to do, because very few songs have melodies that you can comfortably play in the same "area" of the guitar while you're playing the song's other music.

+LectornAnigame I think that's a little too generalizing. There's also a finger picking technique that includes using a pick. You hold the pick with your thumb and index finger and pick with the rest. Also, finger picks can be considered picks, too, so that's good to take into consideration.
