Learn how, when and where to look for seashells & train your eyes how to find/spot/discover sea shells/shark teeth/fossils in the sand along tide wrack lines. Common beach treasures found beachcombing, sea shelling & exploring along the Lowcountry Ace Basin Beaufort, South Carolina coastline include whelk (knobbed/knobby, channeled, kiener, pear), lettered olive (SC state shell), shark eye moon snails, angel wing shells, clams (Quahog, Venus, jackknife, razor, imperial), blue mussels, lucines, murex (giant eastern, lace, apple), sea urchin, sand dollars, seastar/starfish, tulip (banded & true) auger, baby's ear, coral frags, jingle, slipper, drill, periwinkle, egg casings, horseshoe crab shells, sea sponges & seawhips. We give away a lot of beach treasures via channel giveaways & to our Patreon Patrons as our appreciation!
Crabbing tips & tricks: how to/what to use to bait & catch blue crab with crab pots/traps or baskets; how to measure blue crab/stone crab claws; how to clean/cook crabs; how to determine sex/maturity of blue crabs; regulations & requirements for crabbing in SC.

I heard your wife say that there are a lot of Key Hole Limpets there. Boy, was she right! My Daughter and I just visited Holden Beach this past Wed thru Fri. I couldn't believe how many Limpets that I found. One Sheller told me that she doesn't even pick them up anymore because she has so many. We only live 4 hours away and really loved the area. We really enjoyed talking to other Shellers on the beach. On Wed, there were shell piles everywhere. The beach was full of people, yet everyone was friendly and kind while sifting thru the piles. So many people and most were nit looking for the same thing. Folks that don't know, because I didn't, Sea Biscuits are fossils, so they are very hard, just like a rock. They really can bust up your ankles if you shell close to the water's edge!! Olives are one of my favorite shells, and they are the reason I made the trip. The men and women that were on the beach during our visit are the reason we will be visiting again. You 2 enjoy yourselves and thanks for the video!!

Awesome! So glad you had a fun trip with your daughter! Holden was a lot of fun to shell, so MANY of so many types of treasures! 🤗🤩😍 Yes ma'am, those sea biscuit fossils are rock hard! & SO SUPER COOL! 😎 They were the reason we went to Holden Beach. We have never been in an area that has sea biscuits as they are naturally found in very tropical locations. To think that NC at one point (millions of years ago) was warm enough climate for these sea biscuits to live there is 🤯. The fossils date back to 🦕 🦖 era! 😲😍 Hope you found limpets to your hearts content! 🤞😁🐚 I want to go back! 🙋🏼‍♀️ How about you? Thanks for joining us for some virtual shelling until your next trip! 🌊🐚

I don't think I'd try drilling a hole in a jingle and if you tried to wrap it so as to make an earring, it would probably crumble. But they are pretty! Today I drilled a hole in a very pearlized Atlantic winged oyster to make a necklace. I decided I'd better keep it myself as they are fragile too. The wind sock works great! Wish some other KZreadrs would try that! You opened up that grill and I could smell the stuff cooking! I'm impressed with your culinary skills, Oliver, I mean Shirley! What a fun day! Now I'm gonna have to go buy me a steak and it's all your fault Oliver! LOL I heard somewhere that the lines on shells are growth lines, but they reveal more about when food is plentiful or not than number of years. Are Sea Bisquits related to Sand Dollars? If so do they go with gravy? 😉 Even more funny was when Oliver was a checking shells, he said does anyone see anything? I said there's one right there👉 and Oliver said what? Then I saw a red bell pepper, and right after, he says there is just a bell pepper. This is a year after doing this video, and here Oliver was talkin to me? I done cracked up! 😆😆😆

🤣😂🤣😂☠️ Yep, sea biscuits are in the same family as sand dollars. They are both types of sea urchins. & they go great with gravy ... just a little crunchy! 😋🤣

What a fun day! Now I'm gonna have to go buy me a steak and it's all your fault Oliver! LOL I heard somewhere that the lines on shells are growth lines, but they reveal more about when food is plentiful or not than number of years. I guess a maritime biologist may be able to tell more about it though. What kind of sunscreen do ya'll use to keep your skin so moist and protected? Hugs from Virginia!

Thanks for watching in Virginia! All of the products we use are in the description of our videos. Sunscreen is a must for us, I😎 had a scare last year with a spot on my noise but luckily it wasn't cancer. I was so thankful, after being scared to go get it checked out for a year.

Break open the broken sand dollars and that the doves out. There are no shells here in California, like the ones you get. If we did and I go gather some, more that likely, I would bleach the toughest and dirtiest.

Those are cannon ball jellyfish. They are tossed around the ocean by the waves. They don’t have their own propulsion system. They just float and land where the waves carry them.
