On "My Car Story" we're in Hickory Corners MI on 4-6-21.
We're looking at The Gilmore Car Museum.
Ken Fischang Director of Commercial Operations at the Gilmore Car Museum shares the Car Museum with us.
In our final Episode 6 of 6 well take a look at a Shell Gas Station, the Campania Barn filled with cars from the 1920’s through 1940’s, the Carriage House, a Train Car Diner, a Building full of Slot Car Racing, Brass Era Cars, and let’s end with some toy cars.
If you love cars, and want to spend a relaxing fun day in a wonderful environment with multiple buildings of cars, and historic car artifacts, I recommend a trip to the Gilmore Car Museum. You can see the info at www.GilmoreCarMuseum.org
ENJOY!

Remarkable. That Shell service station is very well represented. Probably like a 1940’s one would have looked back then. Thank you very much Lou, for taking the time and effort to bring us these treasures of old time America.

Lou installment 6 was just awesome. I loved the recreated Shell Gas station and the old diner. I loved loved the race car track could spend hours up there as I had a track at home that I loved in HO scale. Those old cars on all floors were just spectacular and I so enjoyed each and every one! The old car models in metal and plastic I so enjoyed seeing. Just a wonderful presentation you gave us. And thanks for sharing for us to see and thanks to the Gilmore for allowing it for us to see. I so enjoyed the whole series Lou and I hope you get to do another museum like this again. Just breathtaking some of that stuff in the series and thanks Lou again for sharing to us!

Hello Lou: We had a small town gas and service station much like that one, this would have been mid 1950`s to around late seventies when he owned it, not sure about when he bought it i was not born yet.. the pumps were changed eventually but I remember them. The owner was an immigrant by the name of Juneiti St. Juliana. (not sure of the spelling) he was a heck of a guy who my dad said married his older sister in law at a very young age, after his older brother was killed in WW2..(I believe that was expected back then)? he raised their two children and had seven more of their own, one of his daughters was in my class from kindergarten to graduation, a real classic Italian beauty. The man always brought me out a candy when mom filled up when I was small.. and he would sing beautifully in Italian while working. Such memories I had forgotten over time.. Thanks for posting this it was awesome to see. got a tear in my eye remembering his singing voice unless my wife is cutting onions maybe?

This is the only collection of "all-time" motor vehicles all in one series I've ever come across.I sure hope that if you can out-do this, I'll be there, I've saved every episode to watch over and over again. As I said before, there had to be at least a few to be shown in Kalamazoo. I think I'd have to take driving lessons all over again to learn how to operate one of those brass era cars! Great conclusion to this fun trip through time! ILL CYA in the next episode! P.S. 25:15 ROAD HOG!
