2020 Shell Helix Ultra 5W40.
What does the test show?
The more weights you manage to put on the machine until it stops, the stronger the oil film tested will be. The test examines the oil film's resistance to tearing.
The sample is measured with a micrometer - the lower the result with a given load (the gouge in the sample is smaller), the oil will give better protection to the engine.
The table will give the result of the gouge in the sample, the number of weights put on the machine, the temperature when the machine is stopped.

A czym się różni ten olej,a ten z oznaczeniem ECT bo cena jest wyższa ? I wychodzi też,że ten zwykly ale 5w40 jest dużo lepszy od 5w30 ECT.
Bardzo dobry wynik jak się nie mylę zaraz jest po Xado 5w40 AMC Black Edition który mam obecnie zalany w silniku i muszę przyznać jest wart swojej ceny ale Shell mnie zaskoczył pozytywnie i za jakie małe pieniądze

Czy ktoś bardziej kumaty jest mi w stanie wyjaśnić jak shell helix ultra 5w40 uzyskał lepszy wynik tarcia w konfrontacji z Mobil FS X2 5W50? (shell 0,061 natomiast mobil 0,215). Czy ten test ma jakiekolwiek odzwierciedlenie w realnych warunkach pracy?

Źle Pan odczytuje wyniki. Proszę porównywać te same oleje, a nie różne. 5W50 porównywać z innymi 5W50. Jak można porównywać wynik 5W40 do oleju 5W50? To zupełnie inne oleje.

Do diesela proszę wybierać oleje z normą C3. Shell Ultra 5W40 nie posiada C3. Z shella proszę wybrać ECT HX8 lub ECT HX7 5W40. Wybór 5W30 do tak dużego silnika to strzał w kolano.

@@TheEndlessRiver- Do corsy lałbym max 0W40, bo to i tak za dużo do tak małego silnika. Wybrałbym tańszy 0W40, a jeśli chce Pan dalej niepotrzebnie lać 5w40 to raczej Shell.

This mode of friction test is not the best, there is no part in engine that has direct contact with each other like in the video

Could be cam lobes or hidraulic tapets cups but not that relevant compared with and rod bearings during high rpm conditions or low rpm when asking for full throttle from idle/low rpms.

i am sorry, not following after 6 years....no basic standart on your tests, constantly different weights, different durations & heat and friction....too much variables are loose for a academic purpose, do I use it on 30c ambient or 5c? guess what we'll never know if driver is a bad one., or the topology of the area demands that.
