I love her but I just highly suggest not buying from Shein cause they have human rights issues where they only pay their workers a couple of cents each piece they make. @Storm Mist I don’t think anyone will say she can’t wear those braids because they aren’t African braids like cornrows or box braids. They are just dutch/French braids. Plus a lot of people say that not just because of cultural appropriation, but simply because it’s literally NOT made for non African hair types. Like it can and most likely will pull out other hair types because they don’t have the texture to hold the braiding hair in place

@Storm Mist I’m literally African American lol 💀💀 I don’t have a problem with non black people wearing African braids as long as they aren’t racist or say rude/mean things towards or about black people. I always tell people not to and I don’t do African braiding styles on others because I won’t be responsible for them balding and developing alopecia. You have to have a specific hair type for braids. It isn’t just about having curly hair. It’s also about having thick, coarse hair. That’s why it’s most common among black and Latino people. Not only do we share many similarities in our cultures but we also share many similarities in our hair patterns. It’s not so much about the race as it is the hair type. There are tons of black people with thin and/or smooth hair. Even my hair doesn’t hold braids well because my hair is more on the smooth and medium side and not as coarse and thick as it should be for the style to work. And I have 4a hair and both my parents are black. I have to rebraid the hair every 2 weeks or it could take my hair out. But I have a white friend who can wear them for 2 months straight and not have any damage, and a Latina friend whose hair started falling out after 2 days. It’s about the hair texture. And yes, there are a lot of black people who don’t agree with non black people wearing box braids, but that mainly started from white people saying they invented and wear OUR hairstyle better than us and tried to rename it to “release” it from its ghetto-ness. And also due to the fact that before the crown act, black women and men could literally be fired from their job for wearing braids because it was “ratchet”, while non black people could wear it to work and it be trendy. The opinions on who can wear it will differ from person to person and based on their personal experience.

I agree that none of the fast fashion brands are that good to support and you just shouldn’t order clothing from there all the time or just go to a second hand! But SHEIN is defending the worst one of all the fast fashion brands. They make their workers work extra hours that they don’t get paid for and unfortunately allot of these workers are children. Shein actually steals different people’s/designers art and posts + sells it without consent from the creator. Idk if you knew that already but they also not only underpay their workers but if you return smth their salaries are cut or they get fired no matter the reason so there’s a huge boycott on shein. That’s all I know so far but Ik a lot of ppl who have had their art stolen from them.

And I have 4a hair and both my parents are black. I have to rebraid the hair every 2 weeks or it could take my hair out. But I have a white friend who can wear them for 2 months straight and not have any damage, and a Latina friend whose hair started falling out after 2 days. It’s about the hair texture. And yes, there are a lot of black people who don’t agree with non black people wearing box braids, but that mainly started from white people saying they invented and wear OUR hairstyle better than us and tried to rename it to “release” it from its ghetto-ness. And also due to the fact that before the crown act, black women and men could literally be fired from their job for wearing braids because it was “ratchet”, while non black people could wear it to work and it be trendy. The opinions on who can wear it will differ from person to person and based on their personal experience.
Can you please do an ethical wig company review? I know it’s more expensive but SHEIN is a sweatshop known for horrible human rights violations and is not sustainable. Also a smaller brand review will get the message out if they are a good company! Love your channel💕

I agree that none of the fast fashion brands are that good to support and you just shouldn’t order clothing from there all the time or just go to a second hand! But SHEIN is defending the worst one of all the fast fashion brands. They make their workers work extra hours that they don’t get paid for and unfortunately allot of these workers are children. Shein is also known for stealing designs. So before you comment something like that “trying to defend your fav influencer” maybe watch some yt videos abt this disgusting brand.

feel free to do whatever you want, just letting yk that shein severely underpays/mistreats their employees (they get like 3 cents per product made) and they're always stealing designs from smaller brands so i'd advise against supporting/buying from them.

Exactly!! Literally all we can do to stop the harm the company does is actively de-promote it. Like call out thrivalous purchases from it as harmful and direct to less harmful options. It should never have gotten away with anything it has already
Shein actually steals different people’s/designers art and posts + sells it without consent from the creator. Idk if you knew that already but they also not only underpay their workers but if you return smth their salaries are cut or they get fired no matter the reason so there’s a huge boycott on shein. That’s all I know so far but Ik a lot of ppl who have had their art stolen from them.
