A South Yorkshire final should be good. Regarding Wednesday’s 96 points, Posh were relegated with a record 54 points from the Championship (after losing 3-2 to promotion-bound Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on the last day of the season).That was bad luck.

Not surprised Barry says he's a "but tired" most of the squad didn't leave the late bars in Sheffield until 6am! 😂

Sold out 3 times since tickets came out. Got an extra 1,300 then an extra 6000 tickets. Also know a few Wednesdayites going in barnsley end cause they were worried about not getting a ticket. Properly proud of the showout that we'll be bringing. Bazza has been telling the lads for years about how amazing our support is and so pleased that we'll get to do Barry proud and show up and prove him right!

Of course a lot of people wrote you off, the first leg performance was pathetic!

To be fair to those of us writing them off, they were 4-0 down after an awful performance. Its not like they were just slight underdogs. I'm glad that us saying you had no chance spurred you onto win, but really, we wouldn't have had to be so pessimistic if you hadn't screwed up the first leg so badly.

Hello Alex as a SW fan I must admit I was saying " typical Wednesday always let us down" but I came round and was really confident before this match !!!

Personally the fact they finished 3rd, 8 points clear of 4th and 19 clear of 6th and lost less than half the number of games the other teams in the play offs have, I think the play off system sucks and should be scrapped. By virtue of league performance and finishing position after 46 games, Wednesday deserve automatic promotion because they are the 3rd best team in the division.

I don’t think the play off system needs to be scrapped altogether, rather, it needs to be reworked in a way that still fair. How I think it should work is 1st and 2nd place get auto promoted as normal then for the play offs, whoever is 3rd is automatically in the final and whoever is 4th and 5th, compete to see who faces 3rd in the final. Let me know what you think.

@@louisduty3962 I personally don't agree with the play offs because it's not fair to play a whole league season, finish 3rd by a distance from 4th and it could be 6th place that is promoted. Not to knock your idea but it just eliminates 1 game and still puts 3rd place into one off knock out competition.

Before a ball is kicked everyone knows its the top two that go up so been third best is not good enough. Simple as that if you want promotion finish in top two or win playoffs and if they are third best they should win but they weren't unlucky they just couldn't keep up with top two.

Hillsborough can also be a church. The early goal helped, after all, what would any other fans do but still believe in the prize at that point in a one off game. Any other supporters would react the same.

I'm sorry but that was a loss. 6 minutes extra time, granted there were a few fouls in that time, but to go from 6 minutes added time and end up with 8 is beyond understanding. And how ironic that after they scored the time expired. Believe me, if they had not scored at the last second (wink) then he would have continued play, not blown the whistle. Posh were ROBBED, plain and simple. Please watch the last 6 minutes and add up the injuries, 30 seconds at best.

There was substitutions and the time wasting, which the ref warned the keeper about and he stopped his watch every time he laid on the floor. If the ref had stopped his watch for every second of time wasting by Posh they would have been playing til midnight. In the end they got what they deserved for a piss poor performance and time wasting from the kick off.

I agree that wasn’t a penalty - the SW striker barged into Joe Ward who had no chance of getting out of the way. And then there was the SW equaliser scored after extra time. Posh didn’t bottle it as so many SW fans commented. They turned up at the cauldron that was Hillsborough, unlike SW who failed to turn up the Weston Homes Stadium. Things will be interesting next season if SW fail to win promotion.
