I'm very excited for our gym to get this. Word on the street is we'll be running 2016 and 2024 side-by-side along with a Kilter Board, which is a fantastic combination. Edit: It's truly better than expected. Awesome board, nice work!

Only thing I wished they changed was the lighting system/layout. It's the one thing that would have made this layout even better imo

Do you mean have the LED in the bolt hole? If so that's not possible because the wood holds weren't designed to work that way. If you mean behind the hold like Kilter that is also not possible with the woods and if it were it would be very expensive like the Kilter LED system which requires twice as many LEDs. Is there a perfect system or even a perfect board? I don't think so. You have to accept some compromises when designing something like this. There are pros and cons to everything.

I've seen moonboarda in Korea with led lights above or just above the holds. Something small of a tweak like the led light positioning makes such a big difference. There's no such thing as perfect but there's definitely ways to improve and cheap alternatives surely? Either way I'll want to try to new holds

No it has the standard kickboard footholds. More options for foothold rules coming next week.

Tbh what sucks the most fun out of climbing with a moon board is this shitty app which almost never works with the 2017 version in my gym. I also spoke with the staff and they also have problems using it properly. It didn't just work and that sucks. Maybe making this app open source can be beneficial.

What do you mean by "it doesn't work"? We have 10,000 of users logging problems every month so it obviously does work. Maybe you can clarify what you mean so we can help?

@@moonclimbingofficial I do the usual thing - choose a problem, tap on the lamp, "yes", the bluetooth icon scrolls, nothing happens. I've tested it several times. I talked to the gym staff and they said something like "yes this is a pain in the arse" and than told me about a kind of a hack where I have to swipe to bring to problem on the wall. I didn't try it. Yesterday I saw a guy who climbed on the board. But I didn't ask him. When I was making a BT survey the board was available but yes I didn't pair with the board. I'm not sure what I could do wrong ... I mean the process is or should be straight forward. According to the comments in the Google Play Store I'm not the only one with this kind of problems (and my gym staff is also aware of that).

@@moonclimbingofficialWhile I do agree the app works,if there was any feature I could beg for it's the ability to not have to do the disconnect reconnect bluetooth rigamarole when climbing with others. I climb the 2017 set so maybe this is fixed in other years, my gym is getting the 2024 set I believe so can't wait to try it.
