Sheep Shearing (1964)
Maidenhead, Berkshire.
Various shots show world champion sheep shearer Godfrey Bowen from New Zealand shearing sheep in a demonstration for English farmers. The demonstration takes place in a farmyard with a large crowd of farmers and members of the public gathered round to watch.
At the end of the shearing session for one sheep, Godfrey holds up the fleece, all in one piece; a man in a white coat folds fleeces on a table. Several shorn sheep are herded into a pen by a farmer.
Note: commentator insists on calling Godfrey 'Geoffrey' throughout the story. There is a press release on file regarding Godfrey's UK Tour.

aug- had zero regrets when in wool industry- Started off in 1962 on Granddads farm, at age 3 helpin out the O'Dwyer family, on 900 acres that use to be a paddock off the 1853 Gwavas sheep station ,- 40,000 acres in 1854. Found out in 2023 that the original woolshed burnt down ,- blades and at one time Gwavas was judged the most perfect sheep/farm/ station in human history, Have tried too work out in memory what part off the station would have fitted that strange judgement and perhaps it was the 900 acre paddock owned by a Arab man that sold for $7 000,000 in 2015 . A.D. it was a culture shock haveing him as a neighbour as he flew in his own special Arab breeds off sheep..- ahh know some folk cringed haveing a wild Irish family on a top sheep station. , and ahh praye it did not foul upp the Judgement.- rous.''
