You could argue Reigns is pushed too hard. Sure, you can say "he's been champ for 3 years, he's always in the main event" but at the same time, he deserves it. There are guys who can sell their feuds, sell their characters, sell their storylines and then there are guys that can't really sell themselves until they're in the ring. Roman Reigns is the former, Sheamus is the latter and it's why Reigns is the top dog and guys like Sheamus aren't. At some point, you need more than just a great match and I don't think I've EVER seen that from Sheamus. He's a solid hand, he's got a fun character but the emotional investment just isn't there.

Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, didn’t wrestle on weekly TV. The champion must be special and you pay to see the champion.

I'm a huge Roman guy, but Sheamus is right on that some others could use story time too. Sheamus is a hard worker, great performer and should get a massive story or rivalry before he hangs it up.

To me Sheamus vs Drew will never get stale; theyre brawlers and great showmen

The issue WWE has with the Bloodline is that they're pushing it at the expense of everyone else. As much as people complain about RAW and it being too long, at least there's actually plenty going on between the Judgement Day, Gunther, and they they'll spotlight various talent on the show such as Chad Gable, with Smackdown, if you're not involved with the bloodline (which if you're not part of the family, sucks to be you), you really have no way to elevate yourself.

I've been saying the same thing for a long time. For Roman to be elevated so much everyone else had to be pushed down a peg and now we're at a point where this Bloodline has been going on for nearly 3 years and there's still no clear end point in sight. At what point do we look at this and say this going to have a huge detrimental effect on the roster once Roman does leave because no one else has been allowed to get even close to that level. Yes, we have Cody, Sami, The Judgement Day etc but they're already struggling to fill weekly Smackdown episodes with anything of interest. What happens when the Bloodline is gone? There's the US belt but they really need to get a move on before next year's 'Mania if they want people to care about that.

I'm sorry but this is a show, not an Olympic games. You need to do everything to sell the tickets and make ratings. Wrestling never was about "fairness". If Bloodline make more money for company and make more ratings there is gonna be more time for Bloodline on the show.

Kept thinking the audio was cutting out but the dude interviewing Sheamus takes the most awkward pauses 🤣

I’m pretty sure it also doesn’t help that WWE will dedicate between 10-20 minutes of screen time recapping stuff that happened across both Raw & Smackdown every week either

He is absolutely under-utilised. It’s mystifying why Triple H hasn’t done more with Sheamus since his explosive re-birth at Clash at the Castle last year. The fans are connecting with him like never before, and he should be at the top of card. I see no reason why we can’t have The Bloodline vs The Brawling Brutes, with Sheamus challenging Roman for the Championship. Book it, WWE!

This is what a lot of fans have been saying for two decades. WWE pushes like one guy a decade and everyone else is just there in service of that one project. We could have ten Roman Reigns level draws by now if WWE tried with super talented guys like Sheamus.

Not everyone can be the TOP guy. Sammartino, Backlund, Graham, Hogan, Austin, Cena, Reigns. They only come around once in a great while. (Edit: forgot about The Rock)

I realised when they paired him up with Cesaro he is underrated. But he really is the underrated star of modern WWE.

He’s absolutely not wrong . I love the Bloodline .The McMahon Helmsley faction went on for years while other stories were going on . The Bloodline is the main focus on Smackdown . It sucks for the others . They should get the same attention at lease more focus than what they are getting now .

Truth is. Roman is money and that’s what they’ll slam the gas pedal on. Problem is that Vince believes putting his eggs in 1 basket leads to frustrations such as these.

Shaemus had multiple chances to get over enough to be the guy, and he couldn't. He isnt a draw, he is a mid-carder and ahould be thankful there is someone who's actually pulling in numbers for the company. Before this Roman run, the viewership numbers had been declining for 15 years and were not looking to turn around. Now WWE have been going back up in viewership slowly for 3 years.

I'm a fan of Reigns, but Sheamus is 100 percent correct here. Roman and The Bloodline gets way too much TV time and dominates the shows. My issue is they don't focus enough on building new stars and only on Roman. How do they expect anyone to move to the main event if they can't tell a story? Sheamus should've gotten more story time after his match with Gunther at Clash At The Castle. Then the triple threat match with him, Drew and Gunther at WrestleMania. Dude had a career threatening neck injury and came back and had one of the best runs of his career. But didn't get a chance to be champion all because since 2020 it's been the Roman Reigns show.

Sheamus to end Reigns' streak and bring us a Champion we can all respect for their incredible work ethic. They talk about how Lesnar had a "strangle hold" on the universal championship for years. This is literally a copy and paste of that with Reigns. Hell Lesnar even shows up more these days than Reigns does now. Let that sink in.

I mean who’s more to blame the talent or the guy booking the show Triple H? Also, I agree to an extent when he says talent need more story time. It’s true that others should get more TV but if your program isn’t drawing as much as the other wrestler, realistically, you can’t expect to get more or equal time than them. That’s just how wrestling is and always has been.

But your segments can only draw people in when you are given an opportunity with good creative. How can someone hope to match Roman when he gets all the attention and screen time, it’s impossible to match it without getting that same or close amount of time. Now, if someone got the same opportunity and couldn’t draw, then it’s their fault because they got put in equal positions but one failed.

The point is it should never happened. Pushing Roman for 10+ years and now you see half your roster is gone and theres no other big names. When you should've have 2-6 big names and 3-6 guys in upper mid card getting the hype. But no, push Bum ass Roman only because he looks like Aquaman. Again it had NOTHING to do with his talent. You watch from 2014 through now and you see all the guys who got their gimmick over and resonated with the crowd only to not get the opportunity or just be forgotten about. You even had Braun who was more over than Roman AND was making his gimmick (monster) be over as hell, yet they squash him but when Reigns clearly is not better than Cena, undertaker nor Brock in the ring, he gets to win with a damn punch n tackle!? FOH. It wasn't Roman's time and they couldn't accept that because they invested in him too hard till he was forcefully over. Forcefully being in main event status whether he resonated with the crowd or not. Even tribal trash now, hes over because hes the only guy they fuckin write for. When Roman matches happen they are way too friggin long. An absolute drag where he does nothing but look at the crowd and slowly walk around. People used to criticize Cena for his 5 moves of doom, but at least John actually DOES something

Love Sheamus just calling it as it is. Definitely would love to have a pint with the guy.

Especially as boring as Roman is no need for him to ever be out there 30+ mins or holding the belts as long as he has.

Can't get more time when 10 minutes of the show is focused on Roman entering the ring, and then another three minutes is wasted on Roman smirking smugly while he fidgets around with a microphone and then says "acknowledge me" before being interrupted by somebody, only for that person to fidget around with their microphones for 2 to 3 minutes before saying something. Yes I see your point and you're definitely right in a lot of ways, but just because they earned that spot doesn't mean they should spend like 25 to 30 minutes on a segment that could be 10 minutes long. It's just bad pacing especially for Smackdown which is the shorter show. At least Raw has an extra 3rd hour, so they can spread judgment Day throughout the entire show instead of having them in an extremely bloated segment during either the first half of the show or the second half of the show. And also let's not pretend that Roman and the bloodline aren't giving a completely unfair advantage by having pretty much creative freedom to do whatever they want. And with Paul Heyman also playing a part in the writing process of the storyline, it's almost like cheating. And let's not forget that Roman was literally handpicked by Vince and has always been favored and given unfair advantages, despite not really deserving them. His heel work has been great but they have literally buried everybody to put him over. So it's not a big accomplishment that he's more important than Sheamus right now. Neither is it a fault of Sheamus.

@@LukeRojas i can't disagree with all of what you said, but I'll shorten my topic with this. The edge/sheamus segment got just over 280k views since friday, the bloodline got over 1.5 Million views. I mean Solo who hasn't really done much in the main roster yet, is already an established name who doesnt even have a title yet

@@marcywiththegoodhair4365 The bloodline is literally the culmination of dedicating 11 years to Roman Reigns. And most of those years sucked. Luckily it paid off, and became something great. So again it's not that impressive the show's number one attraction is the guy they've literally put over against everyone and have invested in more than probably anyone in the history of WWE. Definitely doesn't have anything to do with him being the Rock's cousin.

Is because of Roman Reings that we didn't have KO, Drew, Sami, and Cody being Undisputed champions, so yeah, he is being overpushed because they are missing a lot of good runs with these babyfaces.

Oh no. We didn't get meaningless irrelevant title reigns that only last a month for cheap pops. Instead we have an historic three year reign that has made a megastar and is key to WWE's triumphant successes the past three years and has brought back lots of viewers. Aww schucks. @@CalSaurous Until the Sami Zayn USO run, nobody give two sh**s about the bloodline. Samoan boys are utterly stupids, narcisists and not enterteiners. Samoan boys are wrestlers, pretty good wrestlers, but barely cunning or smart to the Game itself. The Bloodline by his own is pretty boring, just saw what happened in Summerslam. They need babyfaces to keep feeding Roman, without them, Bloodline don't draw a dollar. And that's why Jey Uso turn face, but don't get why Jimmy first turn face and now turns heel again. That only tell you they only are thinking in PPV matches, they pitch them and then work around them in Smack Down to make sense out of them at the end. That didn't work last time.

Thats not what he said. During the Tribal Court they went over 20 minutes. That segment was in the middle of the show and not last.

I dont know what to think i have LOVED the Bloodline story and Roman really has become one of the greatest of all time... Sheamus needs to be the one to beat Gunter to FINALLY get the one title that he has never got before .. I get why they went with Gunter at Clash they want to update their title holder records .... He talks about Drw who i honestly think needs a HUGE gimmick change heel Drew needs to happen...

Gunther vs sheamus is probably the best matches I’ve seen in wwe this year

What’s most annoying is he keeps the title after going away. It is so dumb. Any other champ would have to relinquish it he went away. Roman should have lost it to Drew or Cody easily. It’s starting to get boring, and now Jey won’t be back till maybe next year, I could be hella boring. Why does he need so many breaks, he’s not special like anyone else. If it’s a contract, it doesn’t make sense to hold the title while away

There's isn't a wrestler on the roster who wouldn't KILL to be in Romans position that's why they've nothing good to say about Roman!

I mean, the guy was literally forced onto people in every kind of storyline thery could think of to get him over. There were plenty of guys who could have used that kind of creative marketing when they were actually hot, like Zack Ryder, or Dean Ambrose (when he was red hot after the Shield broke up), or Ryback before he was fed to CM Punk/The Shield, or Shinsuke who was also red hot coming out of NXT, or Finn Balor, who was also red hot coming out of NXT, or Aleister Black, who was also red hot coming out of NXT, or Keith Lee, who was also red hot coming out of NXT, or Adam Cole, who was red hot in NXT but never got the call up.

It's crazy Sheamus was out for a really long time with a bad shoulder injury and not he's still putting on great matches every Friday since he returned about 2 years ago
