Fiat 500 in for a battery replacement... or is it? We later on found that there is something more than just a battery replacement with this vehicle.
We then serviced my BMW m240i replacing the Oil Filter, Air Filter, Cabin Filter and Spark Plugs. Moving on, we had to refit an exhaust that we removed the other week because of something that could have caused my customer to lose his car. On top of that, we also serviced their Audi A3 that was apparently serviced 'every year'... Hmmm....

As an x mechanic I would definitely give everyone a tip, ear defenders (and obviously eye) you don’t have to be old to damage ears, and power tools/ nut guns ratchets all can cause damage … it’s something you can’t get back…. People think they will be fine, trust me.

Love this channel. I have to admit, I just sold my old Ford Ranger , I had it 9 years and never changed the filters, the oil filter i changed three or four times when i changed the oil. I sold it as spares or repair although it was still a good truck. Whenever I turned the fan on you could hear all the rubbish being thrown around, it was my work vehicle. Keep it going guys 👍

I had a colleague once come to me that her car runs rough. I checked the engine oil and it had metal shavings in it. I looked at the dashboard and it showed 50,000 miles. I asked her when the last time she did an oil change was, and then she asked me, "Oil change?"😂😂😂😂

I've driven a Fiat 500 nice chassis, too small though, shody materials and the gruff 3 cyclinder 70hp petrol just didn't do it for me it was a courtesy car. It was however better than the Vauxhall Corsa courtesy car that tried to kill me by having the power steering die mid corner and it was also using oil too. I don't like Fiat but can't deny the 500 and Panda are actually pretty reliable.

I wouldn't always believe the service history, sometimes techs are dodgy, and don't always carry out something like an oil and filter change, but mark it off as done on the service history. Dealerships are possibly the worst for doing this.

First bmw I had was a 330d, took it to bmw for first service. See where I’m going? When it came out I had an intake to fit couple of hoses and some other engine bay dressings to fit so got bonnet up on the ramp etc and… filter hadn’t been touched was still original one. Decided to check the oil, dropped it, black. Rang them and they swore over and over I was wrong despite what I was looking at. Ended up taking it to head office, as in I emailed them didn’t drive down there😅they gave me… free servicing for a year😂😂never took it back to bmw always went to NVM after that. The worst part about newer cars is definitely the service history on dashboard, for me. Obviously only recall you can’t get around but at least that’s mostly software with bmw diesels.

As you say when you don’t want to wait to service interval with oil eg 10k miles lmao they get funny about it, what’s the problem? Just change the effing oil like you are paid for so my vehicle and engine lasts longer. I suspect because they make so much off parts that makes them not want to do it.

I use Autodoc a fair bit but very hit and miss with parts / regular errors then they want to make you pay to return their errors. They said to me don’t trust their parts checker but asked us to check with them by email too using the VIN! Then after doing that they sent me the wrong Cam belt for a VW. They are often cheap but just be mindful. Typically 1 week delivery too as parts come from Germany.

yep, i agree with that, i`d say they get abou 70-80% of order`s correct, but as wer`e ordering from the uk and they`re sending to the uk, you`d think they would just DOUBLE check the order, then if THEY send the wrong part, you have to photograph it, explain what the problem is,it CAN be a lot of hassle, BUT they are cheap, especially on genuine parts...................😕😕

I’ve used them quite fair bit in the past. It seems like to get the right part, it’s best to get the part numbers off of your part- that way you’re reducing the risk of incorrect part. Saying that though, all motor factors are like this. Not really ideal to have it back and forth though knowing that it’s coming from overseas!

using the power wrench to do up spark plugs seems like an incredibly du mb move to me. the threads on these are so fine that you can cross-thread them very easily and if that happens you need a new engine.

I own a TopScan. Crap for Anything Alfa Romeo. Doesn't clear codes after repair and can't even reset an oil change/service. Useless for troubleshooting after as you can't clear down codes to do a test run after a part change. Not impressed with it TBH. I'll Stick with Autel
