In this video, I had the incredible opportunity to work on my edgework with Olympic gold medal figure skater Gabby Daleman! Gabby is not only a world-class athlete but also an inspiration to many in the figure skating community. She won gold with Team Canada at the 2018 Winter Olympics and has multiple national and international titles under her belt. Her dedication and passion for the sport truly shine through, and I learned so much from her expertise and guidance.

Crazy to see how much better they are at the basics of skating- like dude, we would do like two skating drills (maybe) just to warm up, after 7th grade and then it’s immediately shooting and warming goalies up before we start running plays. This is like hockey camp shit. To think if a team focused more on these skating drills, how much quicker they would be
So nice of you chippy to give a small athlete like her some traction to they're insta as someone thats as big as you.
Cant wait to see part two. This was a learning experience , harder than it looks.

@@JustinLaem I guess that is true! I play hockey and went through a lot of the same things when my sister tried to teach me figure skating so this was so funny to see the coach learn too. Although I think Gabby was a little bit of a more patient teacher than my sister...🤣
There is a reason many power skating coaches are figure skaters. She is pure efficiency. Hockey players are famous for working twice as hard to go half as fast. Of corse it helps to have world class legs.

This was really interesting to actually see the difference between hockey and figure skate training routines, anyway liked music liked video gogo girl coach our Coach Chippy. Stepping our from your comfort zone is not easy and when its not stepping, its leaping out to other end. It can be really hard, remember the difference as soccer player to pick up skates and try to play hockey. I was fast in ice but never learned how to slow down well, so was rocket going forward but many times had to bumb into wall to kill the rest of speed 😂😂 I give big hand to both of you for doing this!
