It's a reflex that as you expose yourself more and more to the cold it goes away. It's something you have to ease yourself into by turning the water colder and colder until you can tolerate it. I can easily tolerate my cold house water, even in the winter. It's typically only 55 degrees. The water that she's in is much much colder, probably somewhere near 33-40 degrees. When I get back into taking cold showers once in a while I can do yoga breathing and curb my reaction to it. Again though, the more experience you have with it the easier it will be. Your body adapts to it.

@@gorgeousnoxy481 Interesting, thanks...I can understand out of necessity it's important to learn to lose one's fear of the cold....If you live in extreme cold weather it's super important I suppose🤔. @@worldatmyfingertips7771 There are a multitude of benefits to cold baths. It helps with circulation (and healing of wounds), it reduces inflammation in the body so it can help people with things like fibromyalgia, it has been proven to help people feel less depressed, increase testosterone levels, etc. Cold showers or ice bathing when I do them it gives me an adrenaline rush too and helps me feel super energized. They can be used as a good motivation tool and a tool to overcome difficult challenges. It is a great way of teaching your body to do something very uncomfortable. I have heard of people doing ice baths for numerous reasons. I myself hate feeling cold bc I am a genetic freak that is extremely sensitive to so many things, I want to try an ice bath but I'm just too scared. I swim in our pool almost every morning, from the beginning of May to October, I feel the crisp water wakes me up but also resets my heart rate and lowers my blood pressure. I should try an ice bath and maybe I'll be surprised. Also immersion in cold water stops my panic attacks, hmmm 🤔 I'm going to try it. I also have an ileostomy as well, I wish I was as confident as this woman and feel weird about the bag, and it's been 3 years now and still can't get over how bad my ostomy ruined my life. Maybe ice water will help give me a life once again, I don't have a friend in the world

I wish we could be friends!! I follow a Peloton friend who has a ostomy bag. She is an inspiration.. just as I'm sure you are too:). Also, from the sound of it, you would do very well with the ice baths! I LOVE the heat.. I hang outside all the time here in AZ(110+outside right now)&even ppl who also live here think I'm weird. I am very sensitive to cold, so getting in to cooler pools is shocking to me. I did try the ice bath recently at a yoga event! I made it the full minute & did the horse stance/movement to get the blood flowing afterwards. I struggled in the water more than anyone else I think tho. Still glad I did it! Felt sooo good afterwards. I had always wanted to try it bc I follow Wim Hoff. Good luck~you can do ittt

I took an ice bath once. But I wasn’t planning to and had no idea where the bottom was. But then I fell through the ice crossing a river fully clothed while hunting. The only thing that stopped me from going under was my rifle. The butt and barrel was on solid ice. The water wasn’t all that bad. What was bad was the 3 mile walk soaking wet in -10°F cold to a truck with a bad heater.

I seen a video about the healing powers of cold water and didn’t believe it but my dog loved to swim so we went to a mountain lake with ice cold water. Let me tell you it was an absolute game changer. She swam around loving it and slept like a baby at night pain free no panting at all. We continued on like this and i got to enjoy 2 more years with her. She passed away at 15 years 4 months which is a long life for a Chocolate Lab/German pointer.

@@machine_maggot Yeah that's probably it, it does get your blood pumping and energizes you. It can feel good especially when you go to a hot sauna afterwards. I've done that with snow, it isn't as shocking as cold water and feels actually pretty good.
Girl your giving me chills
Crazy. I’m gonna try it this winter. Still looks crazy.
Yep, walking, barefoot in the snow is the weird part
"I don't understand what's happening." 😂
Those tights really keep her pretty warm. I never wear that much to get the full experience and benefit.
I wish I had people in my life that did stuff like this, I’d love to join them

Tip: she has no one to do it with and that is not stopping her. There is nothing stopping you but your own thinking. Good day to you...
Maybe either put out orange cones or brightly spray paint the surrounding ice, to warn the skaters of broken/thin ice. Also, maybe others wanting to take a dip also, will notice your pre-made area. Sweet of her to check on you. Stay safe ❤.
Damn, she gonna melt all that ice!😍😍😍😍
Even though we think we wouldn’t, I feel like we could all maybe be strong enough to get through that ice bath since we’re usually stronger than we think. It’s the next part I’m more interested in. How is it getting back home with those cold wet clothes in the wind? Even thinking of walking to the car like that seems 😅
It only takes one bad experience ! Stay safe, and don't do this without a friend near by, just in case ! 🥶

Looks like a nice bath!
I wish there was ice here, I miss being cold😭
real ones know it’s a repost!
My heart could pop just seeing you do that. This Florida man doesn't like that idea at all, but you go right ahead.
I like your habit and character ;-)
"i hope that does whatever you want it to do to you" Nicest way of saying you look crazy and you do you.
AGH HOW
I have heard of people doing ice baths for numerous reasons.

That’s very difficult to hear Vanna!!! I’ll be your friend. I’m pretty isolated most of the time due to some tragic circumstances but I have longtime friends. I’m trying to find the KZread channel by a young lady who is very confident about her ileostomy. I’ve done cold plungers after saunas a few times.

Whatever your doing, it’s working. You look fantastic. 😉
She is amazing and such a good example of a great female, and person. Faith restored.
see this is the type of women we need to support other girls im tired of been involved in female drama i just want everyone to get along instead of fighting
People gotta know that this wont shock your body more than a cold shower, your already numb before entering if your shirtless or not wearing too much

I think it depends how cold your shower water gets and when outside the diff between air temp and water temp, which varies a lot depending on the month.
You’re awesome! Thanks for inspiring me! ❤
“Okay I totally don’t understand what’s happening” 😂😂
When my dog got old she was in pain. I was searching for anything to help her because I didn’t want to let her go.
That’s a really nice thought right now seeing as how it’s between 110° and 120° in southern Arizona right now.
Hahah I love the person falling in the background 😅 that would be something I would do lol
She is gorgeous! So if she wants to take ice baths, let her take ice baths!
Hey , I did that exact same thing twenty years ago and I learned the hard way to always wear sneakers when jumping in the lake . I remember distinctly feeling something not right under my right foot. Come to find out a broken off coke bottle laying on the lake floor in the sand. Ripped my foot up pretty well!!
You’re awesome!!
Awesome! I’m doing mine tomorrow! Day 1! It’s so great for your health! Congratulations
Wow she is really amazing and I think she preparing for the first time
this video looks really good ma'am even ice bath looks really cold
The lady at the back falling when the video starts😂
Nothing about that seems like something I’d wanna try! Haha! You make it look easy!
I feel so frozen just by watching this 🥶
Girl, you are impressive I would shiver like I am having a seizure if I took a nice bath let alone in the cold and in the freaking snow, so God bless and I salute you
The confidence, next time I'll go "im just doing a bridge free fall, been doing it for a couple of days now"
Way to go girl! No freak out so good for you, i couldn't handle it. Men would have to worry about major shrinkage in that super cold water.
