The best case scenario would be; Stepson drop charges against Stepmother. So she can legally buy back the Nintendo Switch from the pawnshop. Worst case scenario; Stepson proceeds to file charges. Stepmom gets arrested for residential burglary. The pawnshop returns the stolen Nintendo Switch to owner and lost $ 90.

@@iMadrid11 its probably a new kinda scam . stepmother wont get prison time for illegally obtaining cash . if the system wanted fairness , the stepmother needs to somehow earn the cash and pay the pawnshop in full . best solution would be to get rid of all wealthy greedy bad people . no wealth , no need for certain crimes . take away the need for crime and no more crimes . take away all the wealthy greedy bad people and no more bad things happening .

the cop see's this shit more than you think. At the end of the day the shop took the bait for a stolen item. That is why pawn shops play a grey area they can't sell stolen goods but they do all the time just try to move it before cops show up. After it's moved than it will never be recovered after that. Best to take the loss and move on to the next sell.

By law a pawn shop or buy and sell store has to hold ony purchased goods for 30 days. Only thing that doesn't apply to this rule is gold or silver coins. Also it would be stupid for them to play "that game" as the step mom would still be charged. They would have to be very stupid to do that. This guy (owner) obviously doesn't know anything about this business... "I saw a TV show, I can do that" looking ass...

Just for the record, I was relaxing, basking in the quiet, having coffee and enjoying this older video. Then, at 1:18 The bird squawks and scares the hell out of me ! I jumped, spilled coffee on my lap and the cat laying in it. Cat leaped off and landed on the napping dog at my feet. This started a chain reaction across the room. But, no problem, it was a cheap lamp and the ice is helping the leg. Great video though Pete ! 😁

While in college (mid 70s) I knew a guy who BUILT "antique" dry sinks for extra money. He made a LOT of money selling these replicas, but he didn't hide the fact that they weren't the real thing and weren't 100 years old (or whatever). Sometimes, people want the "feel" of "old" even if they can't get or afford the real thing. That's fine, but I'd bet your grandparents had their share of people trying to sell them items that weren't quite authentic, too. Part of running such businesses like your grandparents or Pete is paying the tuition charged by "The School of Hard Knocks" - i.e. REAL LIFE.

Pawns shops are a sad place if you come to think about it. All the items there have a back story. Was it hawked or people fell on hard times and had to pawn their most precious items only to miss a few payments and than lose it forever. I love to bargain shop for watches at pawn shops and found some amazing finds that the owners had no idea what they had on their hands, not like Rolex's just vintage. I would love to hear any stories people have when they had to pawn an item and why? I remember i lost a job about 10 years back and had to pawn off my top end push lawn mower to put food on the table, i just few short and couldn't make the payments. It was such a sad moment, as i love to mow my own yard and every time i saw my unkempt lawn for months it brought a tear to my eye. I know my story is nothing but it was everything to me. Please share under my comment your pawn story. Have a nice day!

Well, pawned a camera, Canon Rebel with lenses and case and SD card, only gift from my father ever. 400 dollars worth of stuff for the 60 bucks I needed. Not because of a drugs. Just underpaid and over-charged for other stuff (rent, food, etc) and the 3 months came along, I had forgotten by then, and I was never called or emailed about needing a payment due. Remembered at about 3.5 weeks, went in with the money, "sorry, you forfeited that item by not making a payment within 90 days."

Laws are different in every state, but I had my house burglarized in 2013 and was unable to claim a few things that were pawned until the charges were brought to court and proven. The prosecutor wound up losing the case because "the witnesses were untrustworthy because they were criminals themselves". Couldn't claim my stuff after that. One of the items was Chrono Cross for PS1, which had almost zero chance of appearing in some random Pawn Shop in Ohio.

When i sell on eBay i always charge more for shipping and handling than just the cost of shipping. It costs money for packaging as well as time/gas to go to the post office to ship. These are for auction style listings so its not like the people bidding on the items are taking that into consideration when bidding. I see nothing wrong with that. I always ship on time and in the manner in which i say it will. For me to charge $10 shipping on something that costs $4 to ship, plus ~$2 for padded envelope, plus time/gas to go to and from the post office is okay in my opinion. Otherwise there are items id literally be nearly giving away.

Your channel is so interesting. I'm am 62 yr old grandmother, and I think ladies my age shouldn't be naive, however, I guess it seems incredible to me some people try to cheat to get money. Now, that sentence even sounds ignorant to me, as since Adam and Eve's children, evil has run rampant. I am so sorry you state you don't trust anybody. Unfortunately, I have to agree. But, as a Christian woman, I am compelled to forgive. Not allow additional pain and hurt for the same people, just forgive, but never forget the nature of the beast. Thank you for entertaining videos! Cindy HSK
