I love the story they tell with Catra - it's very rare to see a hurt and messy female character who fucks up again and again, with a realistically drawn out process of redemption. It hurts when you see her ruining everything for herself in this pain-fueled drive for acceptance, but it makes it all the more heartwarming when she finally makes those steps to redeem herself. The whole show I really felt for her, and also for shadow weaver and hordak who were basically experiencing that same desperation to prove themselves worthy. Excellent character development and writing 👌🏼💖

Just think, you see Karen Fukuhara playing a princess in a cartoon - and then you see her playing a superhero bad-ass who does not speak in Amazon Prime's "The Boys" and really hitting it big. Catra is the anime version of Villanelle (Killing Eve). As an audience we love a messed up villain who also tugs at our hearts. Someone who is destructive and who questions if they want to continue being destructive.

The writing is so good, and the actors/actresses bring it to life so well, that I can relate to almost every character. I feel like the underlying theme of the entire show is about empathy for other people.

Brilliant ensemble. These women made a great show and should be proud. It has brought so much joy into my household, and let me tell ya, we need shows like this right now. The world is so dark and foreboding. She-Ra, even though there is conflict in the show, depicts a world largely devoid of prejudice for sexuality or race. It’s refreshing and helped me smile when I didn’t know I could.

pomsky i feel like adora is more mature and she knows deep down that catra is not actually mean. she just has suffered way too much and being compared constantly to everyone remarking how much of a “failure” she is, converted her that way. catra is hurt, but she knows she loves adora and doesn’t know how to express her feelings without being mean since she never learned that

I mean,, they grew up as sisters lmao. The actors consider them sisters and yea I'm sure they love each other. Even at this point, Adora still doesnt trust anyone in the Horde except maybe Scorpia, so I doubt she would ever trust Catra as much as she did. Never forget the portal incident lol.
