Its obvious Alexis has practiced some of the basics here. She's got potential. Where she seems to need help is in game sense - where to go, who to fight. How to handle skirmishes. Indecision can ruin spacing and advantageous collapses. This is harder than it looks because Annie is "simple to execute" and very hard to master and punishes bad/no decision. Annie is a total noob trap. Annie has to be in the right spot at the right time to be effective, and otherwise has little agency. I'd suggest watching mid elo Annie's to see how they handle lane trades and skirmishes for advantageous collapses. High elo - is too coordinated for an Iron reference point. I literally mean Silver or Gold Maybe our Hero likes Annie a lot. I would suggest trying other midlaners that have some pick potential and/or mobility or at least bigger range. Not a mid laner myself so I can't realky make suggestions here. Seeing enemies repeatedly outrun Annie on a sliver of health was painful. She literally doesn't have the same "BS" potential they do. I would know. I play Chogath lmao Anyway. If Alexis sees this, I hope it helps. Good luck over there. o7

'This is harder than it looks because Annie is "simple to execute" and very hard to master and punishes bad/no decision.' I get what you're saying, but I don't think it's true to call Annie "very hard to master". Many of the decision making flaws present here are those which would be punished regardless of champion choice. I would moreso say that the game is hard to master, and punishes bad/no decision, even if your champion is simple to execute (like Annie). Annie is a pretty solid champ for new players because she puts training wheels on some important skills-such as her long last-hit windows, relatively simple skillshots, simple mana management, and clear conditions for trade pressure-that usually require a lot of focus for a new player. What makes her 'better' than some other "training wheels champs" is that she makes things somewhat simpler, but often not in a way that makes it harder to recognize your mistakes. For example, the punishment for managing your mana poorly is quite obvious, since wasteful trades will still deplete her mana pool very quickly. Another example would be how there is a very obvious trade-off between using your skills on the wave vs holding them for pressure, since you feel very clearly weaker when depleting her passive stacks or when your W is on cooldown for the burst. Annie does have her nuances, and I'd agree that she requires more understanding to master than the average giga-noobie champ, but I'd just rethink calling her a noob-trap.

@@Snoui Yup mana usage is so key as mage player till you start stacking tear so effective trading is vital and I generally don't like to trade aggressively unless my jungler is nearby and ready for a gank. I like to keep the lane neutral so I don't get punished for over extending. If my mid is roaming then I play towards my jungler if he is ganking a lane I follow him otherwise I rely on TP.

I mean at that point like either your brain just cannot comprehend metagames, at least in the context of something like a MOBA, or you are just mechanically incapable like you just cannot figure out how to use a mouse and keyboard to do it. if you can move your champion and you can go to the objectives and you can right-click people, And you can figure out what tower range is, then you can get out of iron. But it's some people just cannot understand certain games like their brains just don't think in that way so like when I get into a new video game there's all these automatic things that my head does to figure out like what am I supposed to do in the scenario like what is the game prompting me to do another example is like if you're in a Zelda game they all start differently but at the same time they start the same way even breath of the wild which was kind of a departure starts the same as all the other ones do. another one is knowing when you're looking at a character in a game that it's about to do something damaging that you should be wary of. subconsciously using sounds as well to understand when you should use your stuff. And similarly on that vein is some people no matter how hard they try cannot keep track of who is on their team and who is on the other team like it doesn't matter if you highlight them in different colors you could literally put them in one for all and they won't know who's their teammate and who's not because they're not using their peripheral vision whatsoever. they're only looking at the 10 pixels within a circle of wherever their gaze is. And then this one actually made me very bad for a long time and that is knowing when you move your mouse how far your cursor is actually going. cannot play FPS's, And the reason is because I can't track my cursor. I can't watch it because I get too distracted by watching what the other people are doing because that's what fighting games tell you to do, so my cursor drifts. And then when I move it I don't know exactly how far it's going to go like I couldn't click in front and behind of my champion really really fast if I wanted to because I would click way off it end up running in a circle. in OverWatch on I could only do flick shots if I played anyone besides Farah. characters like soldier and Ash and bastion require tracking and I can't do that. And not for lack of trying like I tried everything. 3rd party training tools, tools using the trading mode, just hammering away games on soldier and inting my teams. point point is some people just can't figure certain things out with video games cuz it's not natural our brains aren't built to play video games so if you didn't start on them young they're really really hard to learn because it's hand-eye coordination with no physical feedback, controlling a character in a virtual environment, where you're supposed to subconsciously interpret signals to discern a metagame That's never explained to you, And that if it was explain to you could be an incorrect explanation 6 months down the line because the metagame can change "because there's no right answers" so to speak

Iron 4 players cannot learn to get better iron 4 is impossible to get to without you being actually mentally handicapped or purposefully demoting and losing 200 games straight.
