“I don’t believe getting straight A’s in school is the only way to success” I wish all parents had this mindset. A few B’s and a C every once and a while isn’t going to hurt that bad. There are so many ways to succeed in life without having A’s all the time. As long as they don’t get their grades down to a D or an F, to me, it’s fine. They’re kids. Let them have somethings to think about other than grades.

Kids and teens their brain aren’t fully developed, they think with their emotion side of the brain and not with their logical thoughtful frontal cortex. Both parent and teen in this video should be respectful towards each other. In most cases, parents knows best because they make decisions with their frontal cortex. They care about their daughter or son safety. Appreciate that your parents care about you. Your parents were teens and kids once, so they have experience. This girl wanting to wear a short skirt, attracts more danger to her wether she wants it or not(especially in Korea). So of course the mother is concerned for her daughter.

The mother and father are exploiting their kids by letting them be filmed like this. The older girl seems like she's old enough to understand but the younger girl's privacy should be considered as she is too young to consent to being filmed like this. Celebrities and youtubers showing their young kids online is not good. Respect to those who keep their kids away from the public eye.

Gonna be honest, i have not seen any other clips of this family but i can say the daughter is extremely respectful and seems like a genuinely nice girl. Like she greets the camera person politely etc. Her response towards her mom isn’t that abnormal? Like at her age, she definitely wants to look good so nails and stuffs like that are something they want to do. I mean, i have definitely been in that phase. I think her mom should try to be understanding because at that age, kids tend to get embarrassed to do stuffs that they used to do before and parents seems to confuse that to being ‘rude’ or ‘disrespectful’. I am saying this because my mom has been more of an amazing friend to me, she grew up with me so things like these are something i have never faced but friends around me have.

The mom has a youtube channel and the daughter is actually a sweet and helpful kid. I'm not justifying the disrespectful behaviour that Subin (the daugther) did, but people should stop writing comments as if they didn't argue with their mother as a teen. Subin's just going through a phase and surely the mom has her own way of parenting. At the end of day, they will still love and care about each other.

“I don’t understand her and she doesn’t understand me either.” I feel like this is the epitome of all problems parents tend to have with their children. There are some things parents do out of love that may be overbearing in their children’s perspective, and so children feel as if they are forced to “obey” or bear with the annoyance that comes with their freedom. Vice versa, a parent would feel as if their child is shutting themselves off and disappearing away from their watchful eyes and they simply worry all the time because it’s about their kid’s safety and life. In the end, both sides feel as if the other is obligated to change for them to feel better, and then they start throwing around words like “why can’t you understand me.” But the problem isn’t that, because I’m sure both the parents and children know EXACTLY what each other want but can’t give in for specific reasons. In the end, you have to communicate and accept the fact that you can’t have EVERYTHING go the way you want it to, whether you’re a parent or child. You have to give in sometimes because that’s just how it is with every relationship, familial or not. I feel like they should try to talk and be on the same page, compromising on some aspects so that both sides can have a certain degree of freedom without worrying or annoying the other.

A lot of people are commenting about how the daughter should be more understanding of the mom, but honestly I see where the daughter is coming from… sometimes you just want your own space, and peace, to figure out what YOU want and with a parents who’s always asking you “what’s wrong”, it makes it harder for you to know what’s wrong. So you just end up getting more angry… I’m not saying the mom intentions come from a wrong place, no, I’m just saying sometimes when your kids ask for that space, give them that space, that’s something my parents failed to give me, so for that reason, I rebelled a lot.

I used to be like that too when I was her age. Your words are too harsh guys even comparing to the way yourself did to your own mom. It's different. There are many good perspective Subin shows to people like she always want to make contents whenever her mom told her. Like we don't know whether she is mood or not at that time bcs usually people around her age would spend time with their friends and study. But she still willingly make contents in front of camera. I used to greet my parents before and after school when I was still in primary school then I went to study abroad for years and I slowly forget that habit because I never do it any more since there's no one for me to greet there. Now I live with my parents again and I never greet them the same way as before. Usually when I came home I just went straight to my room and I will come out when they called me, they also never complain about it. After watching this video I think I should start greeting my parents again, it will be an act of respect for them 😊

I think subin is starting to go through puberty and she knows that the way she behaving is wrong but she's in a state where she's not wanting to communicate, but she also needs to understand her mother that she is just worried and wondering if she will get back home okay. Her mother is very understanding but she is also asking to make sure if she is truly okay because all mothers has gone through puberty the same way as their daughters it is just a little different now. I think she is just hitting puberty.

Saying I wasn't paying attention in school and that class time was for learning not talking to my friends, etc. I felt hurt because I was doing my homework and getting good grades. I love how understanding and gentle her mother is... a lot of kids naturally develop a more rebellious and carefree attitude, unless they are getting it into something illegal or life-threatening to themselves or others, it is important to treat them like just any other kid, that creates a sense of guilt and change that comes from within, you cant do that with yelling or even worse, beating a child. At that point, even if the kid's rebellion or mean attitude was not originally directed at the parents, human psychology is such that theyll automatically think "thats it, i have no reason to feel bad about how i treat my parents, theyve deserved it all along"... and then the parents become part of the problem without realising it

"i need to confiscate your phone." "we need to constantly turn off the wifi." "if you go out you should always have a guardian with you." i always try my best to understand them, but it just gets so hard and im losing my patience. they constantly give me rules and punishments because for them i am "dumb and not worth anything." i am now on my last year of highschool and i have barely made memories within my teenage years and still fighting constant depression and suicidal thoughts and i cant even talk about that topic with them without being beaten up first. you dont know how much i wished i had a parent like her mom, she is so lucky to have her and each other.

At that age, it’s hard to be honest about your feelings for your parents! Developmentally, it just feels strange and embarrassing. I’m glad she was able to make a video in private and say her honest feelings!

Maaan I wish I could do that with my mom. Going out and shopping clothes, I mean. Every time we go out, she tells me to look for clothes and she just sits down. And when I find some clothesand say I like, she would be like 'Haha we're actually not gonna buy anything'. She would then look around and buy something-which is not for me, but for my brother. And it hurts because I'm the one with her, but she only thinks of my bro

She seems like a genuinely sweet girl. She just had a little misunderstanding with her mom, it's normal. I expected to see an extra rebellious, bratty kid, but it's not the case here.

Mom-daughter relationship sometime is hard. They know they love each other but they are too embarrased to talk about it. When they have problems they tend to keep it by themselves bcs they don't want to worry the other. Talking about it once a while is nice to keep the bond stronger. I love how Subin thinks about her mom bcs she's mature enough to go through her puberty when most of daughters would resent their mom and live their youth. Mom here also has a big heart to understand her daughter. I hope they have a happy and healthy life

I'm older now so I understand where both of their frustrations are coming from and their attitude and reactions are normal esp for a teenager. I just hope the daughter won't go out too late with those clothes or at least tell her family where she's going. because she's still young and impressionable which means she's very easy to prey on by predators... No matter how mature you think you are at that age, once you've grown older, you will look back and think you weren't so mature after all.

Nope! It’s not a blessing from “God”. Some people just have decent parents, and some people have abusive or generally shitty parents. Do you think the millions of children in orphanages around the world, and people who grew up in orphanages but were never adopted don’t deserve a “blessing”?

jimins.chubby.cheeks besides not greeting her mum everything else she does it normal for teenagers. Wanting to get nails done, going out with friends after finals till about later and wanting to dress well and look pretty. She’s behaving normally and she does have an attitude towards her mum but you know in Korea everyday after school they have academy to late and spend most their time studying it’s understanding she’s tired that her mum is nagging her even when her finals are finished to why she’s going out with friends to karaoke once. She doenst get much time to relax and spend time doing things she likes and she has $30 for two weeks to pay for things like something to eat after school so she won’t be hungry during academy so once in a while she pays to do her nails because it’s something she likes and as a reward is not being immature.

@@getintoityuh2412 I will normalize it, because its not being bad! "more mature teenagers" are usually those who suppress their own feelings and will need a good psychologist later (I say that because I was one), or have to play the role of the parents themselves. they are usually girls, because we are always socialized to be "responsible" and "mature". she is a good girl and daughter, her mother has a KZread channel and we can see how she helps and is good with her mother. judging a person, especially a teenager, for having a bad week after an exam, is stupid.
