I dont believe Lucy cares about being better than the original , she just performs to the best of her ability , the best version of her herself .

@@Tom-ut6ky I never use the word better for any performance , for any artist . especially if i'm a fan because i know my opinion is a subjective biased opinion . so me saying better is irrelevant .i enjoy and appreciate the artist performance on its own merit being the best version of themselves .all fans of a artist will say their favourite is the best .

@@cristy4742 As I said all fans will say their favourite is the best , morrissett fans also . singers have their own style of singing and in a different key .how can you compare a jazz singer to morrissett or Lucy ? singers have their own lane .they should perform in a key most suitable to their voice .why compare at all , why not just enjoy and appreciate each artist for their talent , as i do .lucy is a excellent singer with a beautiful heart and i believe her lane is musical theatre .i'm a fan of her talent but she is not my absolute favourite artist , that is angelina jordan , her fans will tell you she is the best , that's natural and understandable every fan group are the same .it's to be taken with a pinch of salt .

Lucy you did it again - my goosebumps got goosebumps. She is so fantastically trained that she can sing almost anything and convey all the emotions. I love the girl and her terrific voice.

This is the best cover version of a classic song that went to #1 around the world and was also voted Song Of The Year..If the radio stations pick this song to play on their station then there is hopefully a chance that it may go to #1 one again. One can dream.

Very good reaction to Lucy singing " Bridge Over Troubled Water" she is so good she can sing anything but I wonder what it would sound like with Martha aboard , I belive they have made another cover together I can't wait to hear this especially after listening to their version of the "Prayer". I have never heard any singer with as much dynamic range as Lucy Thomas. Want to make a perfect song better.... let Lucy Perform it. She doesn't copy Music, she improves it. Regardless where she starts on the scale, Lucy never runs out of breath, pitch, or vibrato. Her word pronunciation is so clear, we never have to wonder what she just said.

Thanks for comment. I have been on both sides of the microphone. I can spot real talent. KZread is full of wannabe talent, but true talent is actually rare. Lucy Thomas is so far past rare it's hard to believe she is human. When I was 19 I too performed this same song live on stage a cappella. I was pretty good. I have some unique insights from performing. Today I am happy to just be floored by the next song performed by Lucy. She never disappoints.@@jayjackson8480

I love your reactions to Lucy and Martha the only thing that does confuse me how you haven't yet ( I believe anyway ) reacted to Somewhere and Memory the first one i think from West Side story and the other one from Cats you will hear how much range this incredible singer has in her repertoire.

What makes an actor or singer great is that they are able to embody and own the character. And they have to do this by feeling all the necessary emotions and expressing the necessary gestures of the character as required in the script or song. Lucy is a great singer and great performer. People like Lucy receive awards because they embody the character when they perform.

Wonderful song. Basicly what has been done: just slowed down a bit in compare to the orginal. And than Lucy's voice on top and you have "Gold".

Sounded like a choir with her at certain parts .Lucy always makes songs better

Hi ya Mike & Ginger - yet another wonderful reaction to Lucy. Been a while since I last watched you two but then again, I kinda watch for Lucy Thomas reactions - all others kinda pale in comparison to her. This is one of my favourite S&G songs and I WAS very active in that timeframe (77yo now). Lucy's rendition of this song is just different enough with the changes in phrasing and her crystal clear low and high notes to make it her own. Gotta love those long compound phrases where traditionally a breath would be taken and she just flows right on through them and then extends them and holds them. It's amazing. Recent subscriber here and after hearing this, I really really really really really wish you would react to Elvis Presley's version of this, live in Vegas 1970, that specific show. It gets reacted to a lot and Elvis did the arrangement on it and it's just fantastic. It's like the male baritone version of this. And I'm surprised you guys haven't covered the recent duet with Lucy and Martha, which dropped about 5 weeks ago or so, it's a contemporary Christmas song called Mary Did You Know. It's mind-blowing and you can see the progress that both of them have made, including Martha.

There is no way I would compare Lucy Thomas to Art Garfunkel. One has a beautiful male voice and the other has a beautiful female voice. Now if you want to compare some other female vocalist covering this song to Lucy, then I would give it to Lucy hands down.

Hi Ginger and Mike, my favorite reactions duo, Another great reaction to a fabulous vocal by Lucy. Hard to believe that she can get any better, but she does with each new song. Suggestion: You guys have been great about reacting to so many of Lucy and Martha's' more recent productions. I would like to suggest one of Lucy's songs when she was younger though. Art Garfunkel , was the BEST male vocalist for this song as the composer Paul Simon wrote it with Art in mind. Lucy did the Absolute BEST performance for a female singer. Elvis Presley did it years alert and screwed it all up! Was not Impressed at all with So-Hyangs version either.

That was a beautiful rendition of one of the greatest songs. I disagree that it was better than the original, but it was nicely done.

Good morning guys. I grew up with S&G my whole life, and love their music. Like you G, I’ll say ‘don’t hate me guys’. I followed Lucy for years, and loved it when her sister started singing with her too; but I got burned out on her because all of her songs just started sounding the same.

Well she is predominantly being spun as a musical theatre singer how you can say her songs all sound the same is rather confusing she used to be mine and run sound nothing alike, neither does you raise me up and brand new day. 😵‍💫

I’ll also say that a lot of Lucy’s songs are not my type of music as I prefer rock. Many of Lucy’s songs I never liked before, as they were just too old and boring for me. Lucy has bettered them and I now don’t mind to listen her and them, however songs like ‘Smile’ and ‘What A Wonderful World’ and ‘Evergreen’ are still a bit boring for me. Similar release are for the new musical so they will be produced towards that, so I think I can relate to what you say. I will be going to Rosie the musical and in that environment they will be super, just not my everyday preference. The exception being ‘Broken Dreams’ that I adore. Lucy’s released over 60 songs just on her channel, and there is a huge mix for everybody even me. So I’ve found many that I simply love and that’s why I here. Have another look, and there are around 5 or 6 great songs without video. What type of music do you prefer?

Beautiful voice and she has a nice level of expression but I have to disagree with Ginger slightly - I absolutely love S&G’s originals much more than the majority of covers. With the possible exception of Elvis’ version of this song which is probably on a par with the original. Will have to check more of Lucy’s stuff out…

It will be a confusing journey for sure. 🤔🤨😲 Lucy’s done over 60 songs all genres and all the great artists and legends. Plus her own original songs. I reluctantly had to accept Lucy was better than my favourites. So I’m sure you will also be surprised checking Lucy’s channel. 🙂 I’ve spent the last days comparing Lucy to Simon and Garfunkle, and concluded Lucy sung this better and she is a better singer. That’s no disrespect to Garfunkle because Lucy is one of the best singers to date. However the original’s music is fuller with more instruments so is deeper, louder with more power and impact. So that to me sounded a better version, but only for the music. It’s an epic song belonging to S&G, but they produced it with an epic budget. Lucy just did it in about a week and on a budget. Lucy probably spends more time looking for a new outfit than she does on the song, which is simply pure talent.
