This drama is excellent, and for a variety of reasons. first and foremost, the ML's acting is on another level as he perfectly portrays first a man deeply traumatized and emotionally unbalanced, drenched in a violent past; then a cotton candy sweet love brained repentant husband and father. The man knew when to let go to give him and the FL time, and when to cling for all he was worth. If you start watching this drama and think it might be too intense for you, keep watching, there's an abrupt tonal shift about halfway through that a less nuanced piece would never have been able to pull off. But this drama makes it work. And honestly, for all the violence and terror of the first half, the second half is like pure comedy. The ML is so funny. He's essentially the same man (moody, calculating, and prone to fixations) that he was before, he just has WAY better self-control and goes about drawing his woman back to him with a softer approach. Aside: 🤣🤣🤣I'm telling you, comedy. Him BEGGING the FL to reconsider the merits of car sex because he liked it so much. His ENTIRE lewd fantasy in the dressing room where he admits he wants to make love on every surface in the house because he can't control himself around her. The look on his face when he jumped through a window to escape those psychos trying to assualt him and he sees his wife, his sexual salvation. I can't. Pure genius. 🤣 🤣

Guys this ml is too good and he is always faithful to fl in all dramas that's why we love him... best scene when in hospital he calls her but realise he wronged her and had no right to stop her .. that simple understanding in ml is so rare... all those abusive ml who are so shameless... They should learn from this ml...

Love this actor-Zheng Zi Qi- and his voice. He is far from the prettiest, and he usually does dark and tormented MLs, but he can really really act. Everytime I see his dramas he surprises me. Hopefully he will have a far ranging career. The choices he makes 1:03:10 to get her to go away to try and keep her and the daughter safe, from th family and from himself-- how the actor shows it breaking him is one of his best scenes. Oh. Other dramas when he's without his shirt..... Oh my, he works out. (They always seem to get his necklace --with "Zheng" in at least one shot. )

The male leads voice is so sexy.

The women in the comments: "I just LOVE how abusive, psychopathic, narcissistic, cruel, and murderous the ML is! His husky voice and homicidal tendencies make him SOOOO manly and attractive!" Me: He tried to kill a CHILD! Is someone taking crazy pills?!

Ikr, everyone seems to forget the two rapes in one day. First, in the car without tinted windows and then dragged into the bedroom when they return home.

The first half of the drama is dark and then suddenly turns into a rom com. There needed to be a transition for the ML. Anyway it’s worth the watch because the acting is good especially the ML. He’s a favorite of mine. His delivery is thoughtful and unique. Even though I have mostly seen him in angsty roles like the first half, he was great as repentant and sweet. The FL was good but lacked nuance. The little girl was great! No glances off camera to check for approval and reactions seem genuine. Loved the Snow White dress!!
