I am very smart, and I know her make up artist is probably fantastic. But she also has a beautiful bone structure and a very unique mix of backgrounds (Not sure which, don't care) that make her face very pretty, at least to me. Honestly, if you don't have anything nice to say, why say anything at all?

I'm pretty sure the baby was taken care of. Yes prioritize your children 100% but if you have never had a child, you wouldn't know what its like the 1st few weeks. Its literal hell. She needed a small break, pretty sure there was someone, pretty sure she didn't go starving, pretty sure she was fine for a few hours. Its not like she went on a trip for a few months or something. Also, newborns don't know anything rn, so this would be a good time to take your breaks. Now when she's like getting toddler age, Shay will definitely be with her 24/7 that's when they really take in information, learn and need the most attention.

Not having a birth plan helps mom’s be more flexible and able to prioritize the safety of their baby and themselves. I find those are the most successful deliveries!

Have birth “preferences” but not a plan. As you say, plans can go out the window depending on how the birth goes. I had to get pitocin (and they forgot the epidural for 5 hours!), followed by a c section. It wasn’t what I wanted, but it was what was best for baby. The problem with a plan is that women can feel disappointed if it doesn’t go to plan. There’s no “correct” way to give birth other than the way it ends up happening for you.

Oh my gosh. I stumbled on this video and thank god I did. Hearing you guys talk about prepartum depression, and your mindset while beginning pregnancy hit the nail on the head. I thought I was the only one who went through that and even now at 6 months I feel so guilty for having those thoughts of not loving being pregnant. So happy that I’m not alone. It’s so weird to lose your body/ part of your identity but to be excited at the same time about the thought of a baby.

I'm so so so glad and thankful that you talked about that kind of depression!!! I'm in my first trimester and I'm feeling the same! If I'm not nauseous, I'm crying. But because of the most simple thing like today I cried because my sister came over and I was happy to see her (I see her multiple times a week btw). I was never that emotional before... So it's good to know that it's normal, it reassures me so much, so thank you.

I feel like because of the internet, it is so easy to find actors/musicians/artists etc. so it's nice to have something that is a little more personal, like youtube, so now we can pick & choose talented people who are also nice, good people. And I love that is gives these talented people the creative freedom that it does.

Weeks 5-10 of my pregnancy were when I felt prepartum depression. I am happy that they addressed that because even though my pregnancy was planned, I still remember not feeling like myself with the 24/7 nausea and fatigue. I had no desire to get up for work in the morning or to do my hair or make up. I stopped caring what I looked like and felt like I was not me living my life during those 5 weeks. I remember not wanting to see anyone or make plans with my friends even. Then once the depression wore off after my morning sickness stopped about week 10-11 , I felt more energized and like me again. So, it is a real thing for sure. I am glad I came across this video

Just started my second trimester (of my first pregnancy) and already know I shouldn’t have a “plan” but rather preferences because anything and everything happens and you can’t control it. So smart to share that with her because so many women get disappointed if something doesn’t go according to their birth plan.

Being a first time mother, myself. I found this very informational and totally know what you both went through on pre and post partum depression because I went through it while pregnant with my son. I didn't feel like talking about my emotions with others around me and everyone around me said that's hormones and you'll feel that way for a while... My son's now 2 months old and I still feel at times I feel that way

OMG the pre-partum depression topic really resonated with me. I'm 9 weeks and I know exactly what they're talking about! I feel it also has to do a lot with how sick and weak you feel all the time. I can't do a lot of house work because I'm nauseous all the time. Seeing my house like that really f's up with my psyche. I also throw up every day on my drive to work... It really affects your mental state. Luckily my mom really understands because she went through the exact same thing with her pregnancies. Love you mom!!!!
