I admire her professionalism. She doesn't act up when she makes a mistake or loses. She embraces competitors with a genuine smile and hug. And when she wins, she is humble, yet proud. Such an example. Thanks to Chow who showed her how to be a true champion.

Now in 2019 she just become a mother. Congratulations to Shawn Johnson East and Andrew East.

I'm pretty sure Shawn Johnson will always be the "IT girl" for the gymnastics of our generation. She's just awesome all-round. Great personality and great gymnast. It's a shame that she had to retire. And I also love how Shawn got second all-round at the Olympics in 2008, but she got way more attention than Nastia Liuken. It's 'cause she's that awesome! #girlcrush

You Biles stans have GOT to calm tf down- the hero worship is unhealthy, and the Biles stans are nearing Beyhive levels of crazy. Everyone knows she's amazing. Everyone knows she's the most accomplished and decorated. Other gymnasts work hard and perform well too. Complimenting one DOES NOT MEAN THAT BILES IS NOT GOOD TOO.

@hyejin p no, op didnt. Op expressed an opinion. Making it a competition would mean that op gave several names, then asked "who is best?" *That* would allow for a competition. Op named one person, their choice. One person can't compete against themself.

Hello baby

my heart broke for her last night in beijing in the all around. She is always so consistent, never falls, nastia always has errors but managed to pull it together when it counted. Unfortunately her body will probably not let her be this good in london. Doubtful she will stay around that long. WAY TO GO SHAWN, blocked from the top step by a historic night for nastia, the silver is as good as gold!

She makes us proud!!!

You know she’s incredibly talented when after the third tumbling pass she almost steps out of bounds and without even looking down she shifts her feet along the out of bounds line for her dismount. Amazing.

Shawn Johnson has been my inspiration since I was small , we lost one of the worlds bestest gymnasts this nation could have , I hope Shawnee Johnson has a nice relaxing retirement and finds other fantastic things to do with her life x

every single time i look back at Shawn’s bar routine, it absolutely KILLS me how she was literally perfection in terms or cleanliness/execution (maybe not in terms of flexible type styled line as Nastia) and all she had to do was add more releases and extra stuff for bonuses and she would’ve surpassed soooooo many

I have never seen this video - great compilation of Shawn's events. I think if the Olympics had been in 2007 & not 2008 she would have walked away with at least 4 (all around, beam, vault & floor) if not 5 gold medals. I adore Shawn - she is a complete human being. I love her, Aly Raisman & now Suni Lee - admire the heck out of Simone of course & so many other greats both American & not American. Amazing people.
