I mean, I'm black and I watched Boy Meets World. While shawn and Angela had chemistry, I didn't like how, all of a sudden, shawn falls hard for a girl that the audience barely knew. Should've built it up beforehand. Looking back, that show wasn't good at showcasing romantic relationships. I thought it was a bit much with how much attention the relationship between Cory and Topanga was showcased, and it definitely was a bit much and not believable when she ran away from home to be back with Cory and when they eventually got married.

They did shawn so dirty. It's like they didn't want him to be happy😒😒 he was my favorite character🥰🥰🥰

her style was so underrated & unmatched

Their relationship seemed so genuine, realistic, romantic and intimate. Corey and Topenga on the other hand their relationship seemed like they were only together because of convenience (them spending every waking moment together since elementary school). It’s like they settled on each other, not that they don’t love each other but more so that their relationship is all they’ve ever known.

These 2 should’ve got a spin off on ABC that was more grown up and revolved around them and their adult friends in New York. With occasional guest appearances from boy meets world cast members. Their chemistry was incredible, they could’ve carried an entire show most definitely.

*whats interesting about girl meets world is that they had to end the show because the main character who’s real name is Rowan wasn’t going for the pedophilia and racism that was going on ; on the show. I remember her talking about report some top dude that was behind the show for molesting one of her fellow cast member who was also under age. That cast member confided in the lead actress and Rowan encourage the young girl to report that sick dude. It became a huge thing. The young girl didn’t go any further with it because all the stupid adults who should know better told that young girl to keep quiet because she could ruin that man’s career???. Rowan said all of this in an interview she then mentioned the white supremacy that was going on; on the show. It led to everyone basically bullying Rowan. I was thinking wow I can’t believe this is real and how was she going to continue doing the show. Shortly after her complaints they ended/canceled the show. When Rowan spoke on white supremacy I was shocked this was waaay before the beautiful black actress who plays Angela real name Trina McGee came forward about the horrible mistreatment she experienced by her follow cast members along with those who worked behind the scenes. I’m really proud of Rowan for standing up for someone who was not even important on the show. They all kept telling her what would end up happening and how a lot of people will loose their jobs but she did what was right. Many children are told the same thing and suffer in silence only to end up on drugs years later in their adult hood or suicidal. All because adults molest them as children. It’s crazy because it really opens your eyes to things. When a tv show only hires one black actor one person of color in a pretty much all white cast then yeah it’s safe to say the show runners are racist and the only reason they hired the person of color is to be a token plus it’s a tax write off*

What I always loved about BMW is the way the represented different types of romantic relationship, Corey and Topanga's dynamic was beautiful and innocent and grew out of friendship while Shawn and Angela had learn how to navigate feelings and emotions and work with each other.

that’s what I love about angela & shawn. they were more realistic in my opinion because most young couples aren’t perfect & have to get through stuff together to become closer. topanga and cory were amazing, but unrealistically the golden couple who fought/broke up over stupid scenarios compared to shawngela.

GMW doesn’t even exist. Angela came back from Europe and her and Shawn reconnected and ended up traveling the world together. They got married in Paris and have two kids.

the way that BMW literary had a whole episode about Angela being scared of being in a relationship with Shawn because she doesn't want to leave and hurt him, just like her mother did to her and her father. And how Disney made Angela leave Shawn in GMW 🤡🤡🤡 One of the many reasons why I dropped the show and why I don't even consider it canon anymore.

+quell quell Hmm. I wouldn't say that completely, "That's So Raven" came out in the 2000s and is fondly remembered for a reason as it tackled many heavy subjects while still being silly at times. Mid 2000s was "Good Luck Charlie" and "Wizards of Waverly Place", and a somewhat newer show had arguably the most stuff to talk about "Andi Mack". It was after my time, but I watched it because I found the characters super endearing. Among other things it talked about teen pregnancy, familial trauma, mental health, stubbornness issues in dealing with having learning disabilities, anxiety attacks, and more that I can't even name. Can't speak for Disney of today as I've outgrown it, but one of these shows had a teen demographic in mind and luckily got to grow with the audience, and others got cut after all of three seasons as per usual for Disney, but also had to play things super safe too.

oh yeah thats 100% the reason, the creator said that he wanted to go back to the core of the show (which made no sense because if any relationsip was the core of the show it had to have been cory and shawns frienship).Then started rambling on about how shawn and angela never meshed and how they werent realistic which isnt true so basically he had no reasoning as to why he broke them up.He continously had shawn and angela comparing themselves to shawn and angela in the show too.

Don’t get me wrong, Cory and Topanga were a cute couple but Shawn and Angela’s relationship was a more realistic portrayal of love and how relationships really work. Not to mention their chemistry was unmatched. There’s no denying there was an attraction off screen as well. I think had they both been single, they would have been a couple in real life.

I hate Disney for not letting Shawn and Angela having their happy ending together. I hated that they married other people.

The chemistry these two had was crazy ! I remember as a kid … as a young black girl who was romantically interested in white Boys I felt so represented and when I look back they just did such an amazing job with the storyline … she was a human being who happened to be black they didn’t revolve their relationship around race

Well said. TV and movies have failed at this today when it comes to black female characters, especially if they are darker skinned.

Miss the pureness of shows like this. Innocent 90s teenage love. Even the little background song when Angela and shawn kiss @3:07. So pure and cute. What a time to be alive.

No because why did that scene give me all the feels and transport me to the 90s like I been there before😂. I never saw black girls with such pure innocent music in the background, you 90s girls had it good. Well we have ariel so i guess i lied oops lol.

I always liked Shawn and Angela so much more than Cory and Topanga. Don't get me wrong both couples are great but I always felt like Shawn & Angela were more realistic and it made them more fun to watch. I wish they were endgame. They deserved it.

That’s because the show used to be aired on ABC, it was part of the TGIF lineup. Disney didn’t pick it up until years later and started showing re-runs of the show

They have so much more chemistry than any other couple

These two were and will forever be the ENDGAME

LOL this was like the first black and white couple I ever noticed on major network TV and I feel like it brought a lot of spice an interesting everything to TV but I don’t know if people *were ready

Lisa turtle and zack Morris paved the way. Unfortunatly they only got a couple of episodes before the writers tossed their potential relationship away. Apparently they were scared of the backlash.

I am just going to believe Shawn moved out went to Europe found Angela by chance and they got back together and lived happily ever after and send their friends a postcard of their wedding b/c they eloped.

The actor who plays Shawn is SO fine

One of my favorite romances in TV history not only bc they’re a cute couple but bc their past trauma both are very relatable and tugs the heart

Thanks for putting this together... even all these years later this is fun to watch. This couple was amazing for its time (Angela being dark, adorable hair styles [many of which were natural], Shawn loved her so much). Not even sure where to find this nowadays??? Bad endings (plural) for the couple. So it's good for all of us to get to see the best of them again!

Can't believe that I'm gonna watch this show just because of these two, they're so good together.

The views they still get on the videos about them tell me they are legendary and were meant to be. They just fit together.

Loved them together. Best couple goes to…..”Shawn and Angela!” It would have been nice if the reboot put them back together it would have made for a better show and ending to the series.

They had strong chemistry! They were an interracial couple written very well. Shawn was in major love!

You know…I thought they were the greatest couple on tv back in the day and I had no idea about race. .I was only 4/5. They sold it, i thought THIS was what love looked like.

These 2 should have ended up together in girl meets world. They were so complex. The college years was the best. I would have wanted 1 more season with them as a couple in it.

I loved this couple so much too! A serious girlfriend for Shawn. Thought once Angela came back to GMW they’d be together again. Reading comments from fans of this couple, I’d agree too. Very upsetting the damn writers didn’t give them a chance in GMW. Only disappointment for me with the GMW series..

Their kids would be gorgeous.

I liked GMW so I created a different ending after the show. He got divorced and got back with Angela. The End.
