    Oh my goodness! You are so sweet. What a great tutorial. I have been trying to get my recipe right, with my husband as my Guiney pig. Really though we women love to lather up for a shave too. I never thought of doing it with my regular recipe as well. I use bentonite clay in my shaving soap too and have been using up to 13% castor oil in my master recipe. So maybe I will make shaving soap with more castor as well. Thanks again for the tips on how to use shaving soap.

    does shaving soap came around because one of my customers asked me if he could shave with my Soap. This was in the very beginning, and I hadn’t really thought about it very much. And then I looked into it and found that if I just add the right amount of clay into my bar, it is transformed into a wonderful shaving soap. And the fun part is the clay makes it a better body soap as well. The trick is finding good pure clay, and that took quite a while to do. -kim

  • @luminanceskincare5229

    Absolutely does not clog your razor and yes there is a very small amount of stress to the blade you will most likely not notice. The clay is very small particulate.

    Not so much quantity of the foam but the specific quality. Shaving soap should have a lower profile, creamier lather. One can use any soap but as I have said in the past it is attention to fine detail that makes something wonderful. As such lather quality is important

    L W I use a brush and straight razor on my girlfriend and it’s great. Even gets the peach fuzz. I recommend using a feather razor and a good badger brush NOT boar because it’s pretty rough. Cold shave at night for sensitive skin and I follow up with a massage of aloe and Shea butter. Pure aloe and Shea butter. After a few months of living together she has flawless skin and hair. I take great care of her beauty routine

    You need stearic acid in shaving soap the majority of the time.

  • @luminanceskincare5229

    This is not the case. Steric Acid is comedogenic and will cause skin issues mid and long term.

    @@luminanceskincare5229 If you eat it or inhale it. You would have to use a high percentage to have a bad effect. Normally you wouldn't add no more than 0,5% to a recipe and it might also be that you can be allergic to stearic acid. Stearic acts is mainly use to harden a soap. Use sodium lactate or add salt to your water. Be free to make your own choices.

    @luminanceskincare5229

    I’m not sure the point you’re trying to make. The consistency of the soap and the density of the soap is a function of the ratio of fatty acids to water to sodium hydroxide. With regard to high-quality ingredients … why would you ever consider using ingredients that aren’t high-quality is the real question you should be asking yourself. -kim

    There's a reason why men nowadays have less testosterone than our grandfathers used to. Part of that is due to all the toxic shit and plastics that mess with our hormones... so better to use natural products made by people who dont cut corners.
