SHAVING IN THE ARMY (2019)

Today I go over the regulation that covers Facial Hair Grooming standards for men in the Army. Shaving in the Army is never fun but it has to happen, unless you have a shaving profile, but not everyone could be so lucky. I also go over what kind of mustache is allowed while serving in the Army! Thank you so much for watching and supporting the channel! Give the video a thumbs up and subscribe if you haven't already for more!

So I’m getting ready to head out to basic training, and I know my face, especially my chin and mustache, explode in redness, bumps, white dots, etc, and my neck gets bad to. Looks like my face got herpes lol i just don’t want to look and feel like shit whenever anything touches my face and potentially end up getting staph. Is it possible to get a shaving profile in basic even as a white guy? Cuz I heard it’s mainly given out to black dudes

Hey Ben, you probably don't recognize me but I've been here since 500 and I'm checking in and I'm super happy for you that your channel has grown so much! I've been thinking about joining the army for over a year now, and I think about it almost every day, I'm in highschool and I'm wondering what are your top 10 recommended jobs in the army, I've also heard that recruiters can sometimes backstab you and trick you into doing things or getting a different job, Is this true? And my last question is how would I know I'm with a recruiter who truly cares about what I want to do? I know you had an awesome recruiter, so you must know some stuff about that. Thanks !

@@weld_everything Also, and I've made lots of comments about this on KZread, if you join the army, get ready to do more physical labor shit than you would in other branches (except marines) and don't expect anyone to give a *damn* about your age. I know. Lots of people in the army, most likely to a much greater degree than other branches, spend lots of time out in a place called the motor pool instead of doing their MOS's. In the motor pool you will be busting your ass in the hot sun lifting tents and cleaning out the same storage sheds over and over. Being older is going to wear you down faster and no one is going to care about your age because you're still just a peon private/specialist and they will expect you to keep working with the young kids out there. The best hope is to just get a damn good mos if you insist on going army , one that will ensure you actually do instead of wasting your time doing extra shit like that. Otherwise it might be a good idea to take the chair force or navy into consideration, as I've mentioned repeatedly before. As for being treated like a kid, yeah you will get that in the military period, but again, expect it to be *even worse* in the army since we have the lowest standards. The "chair force" and the navy apparently take personal responsibility more seriously than we do, so even though their lower enlisted still can't do whatever they want, at the same time they still get treated more like adults than us soldiers do. I would not be surprised if sailors and airmen don't have to be *constantly reminded* by E7-E9's *every single Friday* to not do drugs or rape people like we soldiers have to be for 30 minutes to an hour taking away even more of our time instead of just letting us go. In AIT for example, you might see that all the army trainees are forced to stand around and wait for their sergeants for an hour or more to come pick them up after classes, which can and does lead to sergeants smoking army trainees when they see how restless they get..... whereas the air force and navy trainees are trusted to go back to their companies immediately when they're done with classes. That's shit you might not want to get caught up with at your age. If you're not married, everybody has to stay in the barracks in the military (called "dorms" in the af) and deal with rules but if you join the army, be prepared to stay in the barracks for years longer. In the AF, an unmarried airman can leave at 2 years when he/she reaches the rank of E4 but in the army an unmarried soldier can't leave until they make the rank of E6 which will take several years longer. Good luck and don't be scared to ask anything you can think of regarding the army or military. As I said I can give a better perspective on joining at a later age than a lot of other people can, since most people joined way younger.

@@weld_everything youre welcome and i want to add that if you do decide to check out the "chair force" or the navy, dont get frustrated and just forget them if the recruiter doesn't move at warp speed like an army recruiter. I've talked to a lot of other soldiers who were gung ho about the army when they were at basic training but when they got to their units (or even at AIT) and found out too late about how unnecessarily extra (aka suckage) things are with us is compared to those other branches (being in the field for weeks/months without bathing, army has the longest deployments of all the branches and deployments are usually more physically laborious, dealing with infantry gear, the motor pool instead of actually doing your MOS, monotonous mandatory group PT instead of being able to do your own PT, how many more years longer unmarried soldiers have to stay in the barracks vs unmarried members of the other branches, etc.) they had regrets. Quite a few of them said they actually were considering joining the AF but went Army because the Army recruiters got them in faster. I had one guy say "I should have waited." Remember the reason why for this is because we are the biggest branch with the lowest standards to join, so that's why our recruiters move faster. the other branches are smaller with higher standards, so their recruiters don't move as fast (I doubt that an AF recruiter is going to be THAT slow, like a year, but expect a few months more than an army recruiter) , especially if you are somebody who takes the ASVAB and gets a low score. That's really one of the *very few things* that we have over the other branches is our recruiting process....once you do join us...... unless you get lucky enough to have a really good MOS and assigned to a good unit (which you have no control over)....you're going to see the trade off, too late. So have some patience with their recruiters instead of just getting frustrated too quickly and just jumping over to us.

@@macburger5026 it isn't that you "can't wear the gas mask properly" but more that the gas mask will not make an air tight seal against the beard. The rubber of the gas mask must meet the skin to make that seal. Facial hair will allow gaps that prevent the seal from being made. It doesn't matter how often you ACTUALLY need the gas mask, the fact is that IF you actually need it, it is there, makes a seal, and is in proper working order to save your life. Chemical warfare is a NASTY way to go. Go google images of WWI gas attacks....that shit is horrible, and probably one of the most painful ways to go out.
