    Getting ready to clean my carpet and saw the G Man using Barbasol on his carpet. Started researching it and found a lot of the pros use the same method. Todd, you have totally convinced me. Thank you so much! I feel much more confident to know you and so many of your colleagues do this.

    On another note...Pressure watching is good, but if the psi is too high, it can damage the carpet adhesive.

    Hey Todd where did you get the stand on your trolling motor? The black piece that you would stand on to sight fish or use as a step? Thanks in advance and keep up the good vids man.

    Todd, Saw the cable hanging down on the starboard rod locker. Nice little hack is use a pool noodle / pipe insulation tube and it will hold the cable up there in place. 2 minute install.

    I noticed the Minn Kota on your boat and wondered about til the end when you said your boat was for sale. Could you do a review of the Garmin trolling motor after using it this past year?

    Scrub brush and tide liquid detergent, rinse though well. Won't harm or discolor. Plus it leaves a nice smell.

    I had to look it up, the active ingredients in shaving cream... surfactants, emulsifiers, and cleansing agents are what makes it an ideal product for cleaning carpet.

    Because of how nasty the boat ramp area is where I fish the most, I keep a bath mat handy to wipe my feet on before getting in the boat. It definitely helps to space out my carpet cleaning.

    A carpet scrubbing drill attachment works great without wearing yourself out. I use the one from Chemical Guys.

    Have you tried using a cordless drill/impact with a brush attachment instead of all that scrubbing for your carpet? I have found it to work well on the carpet with the shaving cream and they also work really good on your seats too. You can get a brush kit from Ryobi that comes with soft, medium and hard brushes in two different sizes.

    It works ok because shaving cream is alkaline. You really need to rinse it with a acidic carpet cleaning rinse to work properly . That will neutralize the ph so it won't end up attracting more dirt .

    As a former carpet cleaner and floor restoration business owner there are cheaper better ways to clean your carpet. At least you are pressure washing it off unlike most. But any residual left behind from the shaving cream becomes oily and dirt sticks to it. Your carpet will get dirty 4 times faster if you do not get out 100% of the shaving cream. There are commercial cleaners like T.M.F. Super-cap that for $40 dollars you can buy a life time supply of. That cleaner will encapsulate all dirt and oils then it just vacuums up or ever time you vacuum your carpet. A damp mist and a little agitation let it dry and vacuum. No residual residue left behind cleaner carpet for longer and no trip to the car wash. And way cheaper over time. I'm just trying to help the guy that is going to keep his boat for many years. The guy that sells it ever year or 2 will never see the damage from the quick clean from shaving cream. Long rant I know sorry Todd I normally don't comment and I like your videos but if you know better you would speak up too. That's why I like you. Keep up the good work! Thanks for being real all ways!

    Tmf stuff looks interesting. No completely soaking??? Spray on vacuum up?

  • @HighStrung

    @HighStrung

    @@jonathanbarksdale8595 you b want to brush it in while damp. It will act like a degreaser. The dirt and oil will be brushed off the carpet and will be held in the cleaner and the Super cap will dry around the dirt and grease encapsulating the soils. Now it can't stick back to the carpet. Then you let dry and vacuum up! It's very concentrated. You only need a few onces in a spray bottle. Maybe a touch more if you have lots of spots to clean not just a total cleaning. It's great stuff and boat friendly!

  • @HighStrung

    @HighStrung

    6 ай бұрын

    @tylermims it can also leave a residue behind if not rinsed very good. Most carpet cleaners are designed to have low foam or bubbles. They are easier to remove then most standard cleaners. Shaving cream or dawn will not hurt your carpet. But if not rinsed very very well your carpet will get dirty much faster. A clean residue free carpet will vacuum up much easier. A carpet with oils or residue left behind will hold dirty and not vacuum up nearly as well.

    Thats what I was thinking. So many models on market, you can use a handheld scrubber that has spray and vacuum functions, that would steam clean it right out. This is a great hack though if you don't have a carpet cleaner.
