Today we're trying out a new way to dye our Easter Eggs using shaving cream and food coloring. We saw some really cool photos of these eggs online and thought we'd give it a shot.
All you need is a glass container, shaving cream, food coloring, a piece of cardboard, a lot of paper towels, some gloves and of course, hard boiled eggs. This project can get a little messy, so wear an apron or some clothes that can mess up. We learned the hard way!
You just put 1 inch of shaving cream into the glass container and smooth it out. Then you drop food coloring randomly onto the shaving cream. Next swirl the colors to create a marble effect. Take your hardboiled egg and roll it from one side to the other. Take the egg out and let it dry on the piece of cardboard. Once it is dry, wipe away the shaving cream. The longer you let it sit, the darker the colors will be. Oh, and make sure you use gloves! We thought we'd try it without them and our hands came out looking like the Easter eggs! Luckily, we didn't have to go out that night!
Good luck!
