I always go against the grain. If I go with the grain it doesn't get smooth at all, but I always shave in the shower with shaving cream so I have macimum lubrication going on to avoid razor burn. I've never had an ingrown hair on my head.
I only go with the grain. Sometimes I’ll do 2 passes with the grain. I can use any razor & I have zero irritation

yea some people with the grain is close enough, but i find most like the closeness you get with going against it. Im glad you found what works for you!
