Essential Craftsman And that sir is, in my opinion, the most important thing in life! It does not matter what you do, just do the best that you can do ! 👍 The only difference in the way I sharpen an axe is I file into the edge, yes it's a good way to get cut but so far haven't happened. Thanks for sharing and take care.

do my splitting mauls with a fine grit flap disk on an angle grinder, a couple of light strokes and you get a bright polished razor sharp edge.

Looks cool, a DSLR? I would close down the aperture and turn off auto focus once you get the shot framed. This will fix the focus issue and give you wider DOP. Good luck!!

That being, how to properly use a grinder for sharpening not only axes but knives, chisels, hammer face dressing, etc. Use of the slack portion of the belt is particularly good for establishing the cannel or convex grind on axes and hard working knives. Blessings!

+Essential Craftsman This is simple and accurate knowledge on caring for an axe, rather than those channels that hone and polish axes into display pieces, rarely to be used. And again, well done for starting with the file; too many channels go straight to power tools that not everyone has and can do damage to the temper. From a happy subscriber in the UK.

Love to watch you work, the experience shows in every move. Free and light, good stance, no energy wasted on gripping too hard, precise enough for the task at hand. The guitar player might be you, but whoever it is could improve their playing by paying attention to the same. When we are inexperienced, we often tighten up muscles to compensate, this binds up movement and we get tired and inprecise quickly.

This was really cool. I am actually using this same method to restore a rigging axe I bought for a dollar from a local yard sale. I wouldn't have even known what it was if not for this channel. I found it less than two days after I watched your Framing Hammer video. Great work as always

Abraham Lincoln once said “give me six hours to chop down a tree, and i will spend the first 4 sharpening the axe

George washington only needed the determination to mindlessly destroy. Even back then our leaders were only getting weaker as the years went by

@@ninjafaceify Lol. George Washington's great strength as a general was that he could hold together a retreating army like nobody else. He outlasted the British to death, which is exactly what that war called for.

I think instead of an ax, he said the same for a saw.
