    Tbh, I don't know about other people but here in India we use broken cups to sharpen knives. And there goes a man around in the neighborhood with a stone that rolls just like a cycle wheel and sharpens knives on them. Just for information 😅✌🏻

    That's an old school sharpening stone, how they used to do it especially when you need a sharp and large stuff. You can see it a lot in old movies in a blacksmithing shop because it's used to sharpen stuff fresh off the fire cuz it just keeps on rolling

    I’ve done this when having to cook away from my home or work kitchen and they don’t have a sharpener.

    You can sharpen it on concrete too, so I just go outside and slide it on the sidewalk. I didn't know about the plate thing though, that seems easier

    Don’t use concrete!!! It’s too coarse, unless it’s REALLY fine concrete

    Fuck no. I would never take any real knife and do that. Maybe a POS knife I suppose. But that is definitely not good for a high quality blade.

    Usually when i want a hard boiled egg. I let it boil for 7 minutes. But today. I boiled the water. Added the eggs. Put the lid on and put the stove OFF. I was free to do whatever i wanted without worrying about burning the place down. And 10 mins later boom hard boiled eggy

    You can literally "sharpen" a knife with another knife, but it's not as effective

  • @satibel

    It will remove a curled edge but won't really sharpen it. Though it's a good idea to do it regularly, as it will make your knives appear much sharper.

  • @ronweisenstern6142
    @ronweisenstern61422 жыл бұрын

    This is very bad for your knife though. It will significantly shorten the knife's lifespan. You should use wetstones to sharpen knives. And please for the love of god watch several tutorials before you do so because you will destroy your knife or hurt yourself
