    One thing I like about these Australians is that you can ask them what they’d bring as an investor, other than the money. People have tried to ask that in the US version and the sharks get so offended, asking if they’re being interviewed or say that the pitcher should know everything about them already

    Well knowing about investor does feel like part of preparation. If I were to ever go pitch, I'd know everything about them so that I can choose which one to pick if I get multiple offers.

    Definitely do a license deal with NFL, make team specific ones that play clips of old highlight commentary. It would be phenomenal..... Might just steal the idea and use football helmets instead of balls as a work around for the patent🤔

    For those curious company is doing ok, they ventured out of sports and also made avengers bottlepops and since it's election season they also made a Donald Trump pop, personally it feels more manly to me when I open the cap rough and tough way and I wouldn't use the toy looking thing in front of my friends, but I can see this doing good at barbeque and family get together for football matches

    This idea is genius. And the guys are right. They don't even need licencing if they build the brand. It's a bit like funko pops, there's copies and off brands everywhere. But only 1 funko pop and that's what gets the recognition

    The only existing technology was the bottle opening mechanism. The idea of putting a sports ball on top that plays a soundbite was what they came up with.

    Just an observation: 95k for 25% made it 3.8k for 1% which both steve and andrew offered. They agreed on 150k for 40% which made it 3.75k for 1%. I would say that was a bad bargain! They should have asked for 180k for 40% or may be 30% for 150k.

    Honestly, I was thinking it's a stupid product that no one would buy, not even a kid because they don't need a bottle opener... But then my mind was changed when he mentioned gifters. Some people suck at buying useful gifts so they go to the giftshop and buy a novelty gift like this. I'm sure if they market it to the right niche and sell in the right stores it'll go really well.

    Andrew is a great negotiator. He said "im interested in steves 25k for 95 percent.. and you dont want to sell 50 percent to steve and I".. effectively telling them they dont want to give up half there company, and saying you have to make a choice between us.. THEN pitching himself. Masterclass in setting up a pitch in your favor before making an offer.

    Why do so many startups ask for peanuts on the Dollar? 95K is not going to get you far - you have salaries, you have huge marketing costs. A single marketing campaign on TV would eat that budget. And for the Sharks it's not a huge difference if they give you 100 or 300K since they know they'll make Millions with their large percentage in the company.
