I too, would have liked a longer video, to show a few more applications, but more so, maybe to explain the PEX/COPPER PIPE differences with SHARKBITE, and I'd want one over the other.

Does the "Sharkbite" stand up to cold/freezing outside temps? or is this suppose to only be used indoors?

SharkBite PEX is freeze resistant. The pipe expands and contracts as water freezes and thaws within the pipe.

Shark bites are a quick fix until you can get the real part you need or can hire a plumber to do the job correctly. I would never ever want one of these fittings inside my wall.

tell me if you think shark bytes are for a quick fix. Then do I see a lot of expert level plumbers switch over to shark byte in new houses and old houses? Huh, why don't you enlighten me?

@@GhostReaper2043 As a licensed plumber, I stand behind my original statement. Sharkbites are an incredible tool to have in a full arsenal and do great for repairing things quickly and safely, but I have had a number of people ask me for help with repairs of their systems which involve full sharkbite installs. In my opinion there is far too much movement at the compression joint of the fitting to be a viable long term solution.

GhostReaper2043 I work in new housing construction. All the plumbing sub contractors in this area use pex a or pex b. With uponor or crimp fittings. Because it’s already really fast and way cheaper than shark bite.

@@daphnisnaith6496 sure they can, but not reliably within ten years. Once the rubber O-ring goes in a push to connect fitting, which it will do in a far quicker time than a sweated connection, it's going to form a leak very quickly. They're a nice fitting for quick fixes and repairs, but they need to be seen for what they are instead of a permanent fitting.
