I would've gone with Kevin's deal. They have more than enough profit margins to no even feel the 38cent royalty. I'm sure he could've cut down their costs alot. If he cut the production cost down by 20 cents and the customer acquisition cost by 30 cents.. Now all of a sudden he just saved them 50 cents per unit, so they would've never felt the 38cents and it basically cost you nothing to have him on your team. People don't understand the value Kevin brings, just because he's not as 'flashy' as Mark. The man is a beast. His real plan is to usually help automate people's business as much as possible so they can just sit back and collect checks. Then he can turn around and sell it for them and give them a massive payday. Look what he did for Groovebook, Plated, and others. Plated sold for $300Mil. That's his real exit strategy and why he does these royalty deals. He's said so himself. The royalty gives him way more negotiating power so that way when he goes to sell the company, they will pay him a huge lump sum to buy out his royalty

For once Kevin's deal was competitive. Seemed like the guys weren't confident in their own pricing model. As Kevin stated, he would have to sell 1.6 Million of these to just make his money back, if he could sell 1.6 Million of these then imagine the sales numbers the company would be putting up. Plus he was offering existing, established digital platforms to bootstrap thos product. Great offer!
Phil dunphy would be proud of them

Yeah, and you probably have a couple of Billy Basses hanging on your living room wall, right? Ultimately, nobody wants the junk when it comes to prank gifts. It's a much better idea to just sell a box where you can put a real gift in. And you weren't paying attention- they tried to go the cheap prank gift route- it didn't work.
@Rorschachqp
25 күн бұрын
@@mcdingus5081 Ok... It's obvious they also thought about the idea, and it's also obvious that any of the sharks could help expand on that route if possible since they always have advice and talk about what they can do with manufacturing. And it was obvious with some of those bogus items, some of the sharks actually hoped there could actually be a item in there. They don't have to do all the items, just one item. Also, tone it down. Drink your coffee, eat your Snickers bar or see your therapist. To go off on someone who just posts their suggestion and insult them is an inappropriate and telling amount of aggression on your part.

It's a funny and smart product. Your aunt would buy buckets and buckets of them. They shouldn't be scared to skew toward more adult products. A box for a gimp suit and give it to your dad for mother's day.

This is exactly what me and my friends do when gifting something for each other's birthdays. We usually create makeshift boxes with crude Photoshoping skills on printer paper. So it's cool to see an actual company doing this in more believable boxes.

LMAO I basically had this idea about 10 years ago, but it wasn't as a prank. It was more a point that people have online shopping addictions because they like the thrill of receiving a package. So, I thought, just sell empty packages.

I miss the original Onion 😢
Something tells me that a story about a cousin opening his gift wrapped in a toaster box was a lie, but regardless, I think they absolutely chose the wrong deal. The numbers they pitched were in the millions on a product less than 10 dollars. 8 to be exact, and that's a sweet-spot price to be at because it offers flexibility. All they had to do was up it 38 cents to literally cover the costs of a third party and they're basically selling for exactly what they wanted in the first place but now they get the quick buck for someone to take 25% forever.
Nuthin worse then messin up on a hi 5.
Kevin's deal was better by far
I don’t get why they got a deal when they’re 3 million in debt
people always make this mistake . they should pic kevin , hes the richest shark in there. he spend 640k for lunch , big mistake
