Well..... Sorry....guys but he is 100% Right. My campaign proves it. I currently have A campaign for my daughter" Eyeglasses and Braces Needed" I made it before I even seen this video and I did not invite any friends or share on social media. I do not do Facebook. So... I thought strangers would just look at my campaign and maybe give I have had it for 1week now and not a single donation...wow...just because I didn't share it. So... he's right

@@yolandabenford8845 same here, my cousin. Created et GoFundMe page months ago. She raised 579$ out of $20 000. Those 579 was from friends and family, No stranger at all even though it’s for a good cause, God help us.

It doesn't hurt to try, its much better to share your cause everywhere than to do nothing. I still believe you can get strangers to back your cause, there are good people out there you just need to keep trying.

I totally understand what you are trying to convey in your video. However, a total stranger paid for my food in the drive thru window, in the same week, one behind me in the check out paid for house shoes I was trying to buy, and another stranger paid for 15$ hospital parking expense. This all in different cities in Texas thru my preparing for another round of cancer battle. I never even asked except for when I said, Well Lord, what now, and He would bless me. Yes face to face makes a big difference too. thank you for your video. I am very green at this and it does help.

They have a Dept section that focuses on the GO FUNDME PAGES.So many people are getting Busted AND Fined...My Neighbor who I helped for 8 YEARS Because she had nobody else..She said she will Give me her House and one of her Account money a few months ago..Which i thought this whole time she was renting out but now i found out that She Owns it and its Payed off.The other Account money she GAVE TO Charity..What a Wonderful Lady..She has no family..I was her Good friend and when I helped her every day with Keeping her house in good shape and Yard work,And Groceries and walking etc I didn't know she was Well Off..Then when she went to the Hospital she tells me to call her Lawyer and To Have her house and $90,000..Thanks..U are the best..House is worth $1.8 Million....Rental income alone is Over $4000 Per month..She gave $170,000 Donations her last year..Who does that?Not many people do..She's so nice..

This is true! I was homeless with my kids and my whole family is poor no one could help I didn't get 1 donation, still haven't.

It's not about adding value to their lives, it is about believability. Most people don't donate to peoples campaign they don't know because they are afraid its a scam and they cant verify it. However campaigns that make news get lots of donation because people believe they have been verified.

It's probably a little bit of both credibility verified through media OR you've PERSONALLY shown your OWN credibility because media hasn't given you the time of day. I got ONE radio interview, out of hundreds of requests, when I tried to once run my now business as a 501c3. ONE.

That makes perfect sense why I do not get any donations on my fundraiser. I am trying to adopt two boys and my network is not very big. So, I was hoping to get support from these strangers you are talking about, but nothing comes from them. This is sad because children like them do not have many chances to get adopted. It breaks my heart.

Der USA Dude people do not care Ive learned. Ive only raised $390 to keep us afloat while fighting for SSDI because of a horrible illness and ovarian cancer. We are now facing eviction. $390, that's it. My friends and family are poor apparently. I'd rather think that then they don't care about me because that would just suck.

I think I'm going to cry now hearing this. I'm in a bad situation where I have started a campaign where it still didn't get any traction, and it's been months now. I to thought strangers will help if they just saw my campaign in the gofundme site. The website told me to share it with FaceBook, the problem here is that I don't have any friends, or followers to even notice or care about me. I was hoping a miracle, but your video just depressed me further. I'm still in a bad situation where time is running out, that's is why I am seeking advice and info on how this crowd funding works. I just don't care about my face anymore. I'm thinking about going to a near by church next. If they can't help me within three month I got left in losing my health and home, than that is the end of the line for me.

It’s a painful truth but it has to be heard. Of course there are a very select few who will donate to strangers, however, so far and few between.

So what do we have here? We have a guy who made a video telling people in need that strangers won't donate to their GoFundMe links posted anywhere. MEANWHILE, he's using KZread views and a video to ADVERTISE multiple books of his own. What a load of freaking bs. Practice what you preach. Peddle your books and such (which violates youtube terms of service, by the way...selling stuff in a video) elsewhere. Then you're offering false promises in said books with very basic info that people can find anywhere online.

I think he's trying to make people angry, thereby generating interest, thereby generating more views,... it doesn't seem to be working very well, but i bet the attempt didn't cost much, even if he only got 1 or 2 donations because of the video it would be worth,... what, 6 minutes of his time?

This is so true. My curiosity is how do you get the support that you need without being spammy. Also, the lack of trust and schemes of others furthermore make it hard to have a real need and get support. I'm frustrating when you really desire assistance.

Now diagnosed by doctors he has stage 3 liver cancer. He will have to go to Shands hospital for that surgery. Your videos are helping. Thank you.

I think what he is trying to get across here is that you shouldn't put all your hopes on strangers. Some may indeed help, but if your entire campaign is based on that, it may be difficult or in the case of large sums of money needed, nearly impossible to reach your goal. You have to be realistic. It is't just friends and family that is your network... It is everyone you have any relationship with. People that you know at the grocery store, your dentist, your mechanic, the people you play basketball with, your jogging partner, workmates, anyone, anywhere you go or have a steady relationship with however lose that may be.

Exactly. If you have a need try to see if a restaurant will host a fundraising night. Then spread fliers EVERYWHERE. Tell your grocery store dentist mechanic, baseball team, jogging buddies, workmates, etc. They have to eat anyway, may as well eat and have 10% of proceeds go to helping pay medical bills or some other cause.

I posted my go fund me and I got so many guys that ask for nudes and other things it's so sad. It's insulting. I posted my go fund me not to be insulted or hurt. This is for my dream and learning.

I also wrote to some go funders that had raised thousands and thousands of dollars in 2-3 days on how they did it and out of 10, zero replied ..I was starting to wonder if these were even true... but like you said maybe they have a church group or some thing because getting $30,000 at $50 a pop In 3 days, no one has that many friends.

Sadly, your video is on point. This is just how the world operates....you have to have relationships point blank period. And with that, there's no guarantee of success. Yes. Many people have spoiled what could have been a great thing, by being misleading. Others beg for money and when you have an opportunity they act like YOU"RE soliciting when THEY"RE the ones asking for money and you're helping how you can.

I am one of the person hoping from gofunding but after watching this video, i got disappointed and loose all my hopes. Thanks for the video.

i'm in same position you are. my small network does not care enough about me to give money, and in fact cannot affod to. all my rich contacts were coworkers who only connected to me due to the job. my few good friends are not rich and i would ever ask them for help as it seems everyone else in my life is in some sort of trauma. the only hope i have is to reach out to those who want to support my cause, and those are NOT in my network. but i am going to go for it. i believe the world will either reach out to help my cause, or not, but i will feel happy that i tried. in otrher words, me asking for help through gofund me will be equivalent of me giving to someone to help, since my campaigne is to help another. rhythm, good luck and i wish you well.

Not true I've genuinely helped out plenty people when they were down and out, out of selflessness and because I'm a good person, when the tables flipped for me everyone disappeared and now I'm about to be on the verge of living in NYC streets. I was even denied benefits etc.

I think your right about some of so what you say. My giving me is trending over 1200 views 150 shares and I'm shy of $500. Most all of my donations were friends. Not very much from family. C4 (Community CounslingCenters of Chicago) is an organization that help the mentally ill ease into thier own apartment from nursing homes. They provide medical, medicine, therapy, and a place to hang out called the "Drop In Center." Its a 3 floor building with a lot of space. I go there everyday to get my medicine. After that I go upstairs to watch tv, play chess, play ping pong and just converse. One thing we do need is exercise machines. In summers we go for walks, but in winter all we have is the spacious floor to walk around in. Please help us get healthy. We need to buy rugged machines. 3 of them will suffice. A Threadmill, a Climber/ Stepper, and a Cycle. Thank you if you do, thank you if you don't.

I started a Gofoundme campaign about 1 month ago and so far I only raised $220 , my family members are selfish because when it comes for them to help someone else in the family they walk away but when they need help of others and we don’t help them they get butt heard and I truly believe god is great but us as people are terrible to each other

What if you don't have a network, then what.

This does make sense. I started one for a friend who has breast cancer and her bills are off chart. But no one has participated. Even though she is a wonderful loving person. I would help but I don't have money to donate right now, and the last time I offered to give 10% of profits from business they brought my way they said I was spamming when THEY were the one intiating the solicitation.

I did a gofundme n I havnt got any help .. i tried asking my family n they don't want to help i tried everything... i lost everything in the hurricane that hit the v.I n left us without nothing... i did the go fund cuz I trying to get as much help for my kids n for for my unborn baby. People face-to-face often give sob stories just to get gas money or a couple of dollars for gas... then when I look down at their gauge, their tank is half full... or more... I was in hurry and in emercidy. My bills and debs. In same time har hell with my parent and step parent as I wanted to escape from to get a better life. Hur did not come from it. This is a Godless, sad world.. at times in my life when I had some extra money, I would buy food gift cards and keep them in my car, and give "beggars on the street".. one.. (they could not buy alcohol or cigs with it)... we live in such a Godless world now.. :(

yeah well its entirely bullshit then isn't it. i mean who knows enough "friends" to gather $10,000 repeatedly, more importantly, they could donate to you in freakin person, I think crowdfunding sucks as it is now for that reason.

People care, but as Salvadore says you HAVE TO MAKE a connection. How do we know you're not like one of these people who parks their BMW down the street and panhandles, making $100,000 tax free (only difference is that you DO have to pay taxes through GoFundMe help).

Hello! My fiance is legally blind, and we are looking into surgery that is available in India. My plan is to present our gofundme to groups with similar interests, such as support groups. I want to state how we plan on making vlogs about the surgery. This will make it much easier for other people to look into it for themselves. jessiewabbit I hate to say it, but honestly don't think anyone would donate if it's for surgery in India. That's really dangerous. I would look for alternatives in the US.

I think strangers like Wealthy people with corporations do donate money cos they know they're gonna get tax benefits doing this..but as far as total strangers? I agree with you!
