Bron fans sometimes argue that he has never played for a great coach but that is because he has chosen not to. He has often through the course of his career been free to bounce to whatever franchise would have him and the closest he came to it is when he suggested Riley fire/demote Eric Spoelstra and return to coaching which Riley shutdown immediately. Seems Bron only wants coaches that he can control, not a coach with a championship pedigree who would challenge him.

Unfortunately the lakers are no longer looking for a title . Right now they just content with selling selling tickets and playing along with Lebron circus . Been a laker fan since 1989 . Even tho my presence won’t be missed im no longer supporting this fiasco. Will be rooting for Dallas going forward until the bron is gone

Look I think the hiring of JJ Redick is a bit silly but why does Sam Cassell have to be in the running as well? If the Lakers didn't want to hire him why does that have to be questioned? I just hate this thing that's been happening the last few years, pretty much always based on race, but some people think there is an obligation to hire certain people. A team should be able to hire whoever the hell they want, and if it ends up being a bad decision so be it.

Well, he can ask them, but the answer is easy... any respectable coach wants nothing to do with the Lakers and their circus. So the Lakers don't really have many other options...

Not saying Shaq is wrong, because I for one was hoping for Sam Cassell when the initial list of candidates came out ( less the pipe dreams of Ty Lue , & J Kidd) for My Lakers…but this is not something new : Bill Russell, Lenny Wilkins , Doc Rivers , Mark Jackson, Jason Kidd, Steve Kerr, Derek Fisher, & Steve Nash to different degrees of success all got their first NBA head coaching jobs without ever being a assistant coach

Hell, they might as well have hired Gavin Newsome to be the head coach of the LA Lakers. Shit! He (at least) looks more like Pat Riley more than JJ Redick, and would be about as effective in 'Getting things done' for the Laker organization he'd in charge of on the same level he's 'Handling business' for the rest of the state. He'd be GREAT! (Sarcasm) Ya'll.
