The Sharpe brothers were great players. If Sterling never injured his neck, he’d be in the Hall of Fame with Shannon.

Gale Sayers and Terrell Davis had their careers shortened to the exact same number of seasons under the same circumstances as Sterling Sharpe, and they're in the Hall. If I'm not mistaken, Sterling's numbers are in the same general ballpark as Sayers and TD, so he should still be in the Hall. Sterling's injury even robbed him of a Super Bowl ring, which is why Shannon gave the first ring he won to Sterling.

Why not he still had 8000 yards in 6 years and one less all pro than his brother. Shannon’s 12 years in denver is only 200 yards more than Sterlings career stats.

@@christianramirez9303 plus, at one point Sterling was the 2nd best receiver in the entire league...and he played during Jerry Rice's career. Andre Reed, Michael Irvin, James Lofton, Art Monk, and Cris Carter, all of whom also played during Sterling's career, are enshrined in Canton.

One of the earliest players I can remember liking a lot who wasn't a member of the Colts. His "call the president" bit against the Patriots cracks me up to this day. Truly a great player and definitely missed.

“I’m the best Sterling. I’m better than you are you know it” But the truth is, Sterling was well on his way to a first ballot Hall of Famer career had his career not been cut short by a neck injury. Shannon was blessed enough to play with one of the 5-10 greatest quarterbacks of all time in John Elway, and to play on the other side of arguably the greatest defense in NFL history in Baltimore. Sterling had 2 1100+ yard seasons BEFORE playing with Brett Farve. Taking nothing away from Shannon who was obviously a winner, leader and one of the greatest tight ends ever, but all things being equal, Sterling was the better talent AND the better player.
