corey thomas I think it's more of woman vs men, stop trying to add race into everything...society gives women this protective shield called "being a woman", which basically makes them untouchable and they can say and do whatever they want to men and they'll pretty much get away with it...and guys have to be the "bigger person" and not retaliate...there are no consequences for these women's actions

So any smaller, physically weaker person can go up and push, grab, and slap any bigger, stronger person, and the bigger stronger person, being the assault victim in this case cannot respond at all, other than by walking away. The victim got the best of the attacker, so society blames, no, THE MEDIA CLOWNS blame the assault victim? I hate the woman got injured, but the law does not give her the right to assault anyone, no matter how big or small or gender her victim may be.

Daniel Isome Never said she didn't deserve a punishment. I just said that a small couple of games suspension isn't that hard to do. I am merely talking at the college level that he does deserve some small punishment the same way he would get for fighting a guy. Legally I think he deserves no punishment but sadly the law is a bit sexist and unfair.

Shannon is taking what Stoops said in a very Simple, Face Value way...Stoops was being very calculated and layered in what he was saying, Stoops said 2 and a Half Years later a suspension isn't enough! What has happened in 2 and a half years since that incident as far as Domestic Violence/Assault between athletes and Women? Let's see...Ray Rice, Greg Hardy, Josh Brown, Johnny Manziel etc. so of course after all those high profile incidents a year would not only be insufficient but in these days and times it wouldn't be tolerated as it was 2 years ago. He was basically making a point out of the change in Society's outlook regarding the issue not the issue itself.

I still have issues with the fact that no one addressed the fact that the girl was the aggressor. So, both were in the wrong. No one is making the girl accountable for getting in Mixon's face. Are we watching the same tape?

I agree. I feel as if Stoops was blinded by the thought of success and at that time it prevented him from determining the appropriate level of punishment. And now that everyone has seen the video, i think he's embarrassed knowing that he allowed this guy to get off easy. So, now he's using this opportunity to save face and say that he would give him a 'more severe punishment' if he could make the choice again.

In this situation, Joe's actions were unjustified. All he really had to do was just lightly shove her back to keep her off or give her a stiff arm to restrain her from striking him further. But a violent punch like that is a bit too extreme. All in all, PEOPLE shouldn't hit PEOPLE!!!! No matter if it's a guy attacking a girl, a girl attacking a guy, or a guy attacking a guy. Not unless your health is on the line

There is never an excuse for hitting a woman. If a woman hits you (and you are a man) you have the right to call the police. She can and probably will be arrested. But hitting her in retaliation can and probably will land you in jail. That is the law. And that is how it works in the real world.
