To your point, I love this argument (not). Bey did 56 dates, TS did around 110, and I think Harry Styles may have done even more. Yet, at certain points on Bey’s tour, she grossed more than both TS and HS as reported by several sources like Forbes. So for people to honestly think Bey COULD NOT have equaled or surpassed TS and HS is laughable because it doesn’t track. It only begs the question what would have happened if she did as many tour dates as the others. Based on her actual stats, says she would have equaled or surpassed, np. But maybe, just maybe that wasn’t Bey’s focus..the fact that she’s a dynamo at 42, a wife of double digit years, not “dating”, a mother of 3, and masterful business owner gives me every reason to support her and care about what she does, not someone who literally doesn’t have an actual care in the world because they’ve not earned it…

That literally means nothing.

Michael couldn't even step foot into a stadium without a disguise, let alone watch a game from a suite where he was publicly identified. They would have to postpone the game entirely. People would camp outside of hotels for hours for the mere OPPORTUNITY to see him peek through a window, imagine over 3 hours in a centralized location? NFL fans would be competing with MJ fans for tickets. Folks would faint, ambulances would be called not to mention how tight security would have to be given that his presence would be announced. How would he even get to a suite without chaos? People need to stop mentioning him. He sits alone and his legacy deserves to rest in its greatness. There will never be another MJ. EVER.

Yeah true but you gotta remember the only time ppl could of ever seen MJ back in the day was in music videos or on the news on TV or articles. Nowadays you can follow your favourite artist on different social media platforms, pull up their interviews and music clips on KZread, Google them whatever so there is definitely more exposure nowadays and more artists to compete with. I do agree Michael Jackson was one of the biggest stars the Earth has ever seen but it's different eras a different time so the comparison has no validity. Rihanna, Jay Z, and Beyoncé are perfect examples for this. Michael Jackson had a strong media presence via his websites especially MJJ Source. Before KZread people recorded programs by way of VHS tapes and/or cassettes. People made their own KZread as opposed to waiting for channels to do it for them. They also had forums and chat rooms where they would trade and share content. If anything MJ risked overexposure as you couldn’t choose to end a weekend long marathon on VH1. People didn’t have mini televisions via cell phones so what was on television was on television and if your family had MJ fans you were going to hear him. Today, it is very easy to silence an artist. Taking MJ off of a playlist did not take him off your favorite radio stations and unfollowing him did not keep him off of your feed or in this case a network like MTV. Sure you could change a channel or listen to cds etc. but it required a lot of intentional effort. People actually got very tired of seeing Michael and he still remained just as impactful.

More screens equals more eyeballs. TS had over 7500 screens, Bey did 2400. Same as their tours. Bey’s dates were half or more of TS, 56 vs 110 or so. And at certain points in Bey’s tour She actually surpassed both Taylor, Swift and Harry Styles. So it only begs the question what would have really resulted had she had the same amount of dates and screens……then again, maybe she has her focus elsewhere. lol. neither are icons. we keep misusing that term, its vey insulting to people who have put in the work and earned that from times when it was difficult. Beyonce and Taylor swift have it easy and they are not as takented as we are being FORCED to believe. no one forced MJ on us, we just couldnt take our eyes off him, the world couldnt, he didnt have to force himself upon us, the phenomena was apparent , we have FORGOTTEN what true artistry and talent is,. Taylor Swift is overrated, so is Beyonce and i like Beyonce but the product is so-so. so to say Taylor is greater than Beyonce or vice-versa based on the majority / minority preference is laughable. both sides are delusional, neither of them are great, they are just okay artists that have overstayed their welcome, we need true art back
