Shannon River Cruise to Garrykennedy on Lough Derg
This is our Shannon River cruise across Lough Derg to the beautiful village of Garrykennedy. Any River Shannon cruise will take in at least some lake or wide river portion. Really the River Shannon is a whole bunch of lakes joined together with river stretches!
Garrykennedy is probably one of the most popular moorings on Lough Derg. It's a small village with two pubs, one of which has a traditional thatched roof and serves excellent food. Surprisingly there is no shop in Garrykennedy, there is however plenty atmosphere all of which lends a good feeling to the place.

Hi Folks Great VBlog, really enjoying them, starting a cruise in Banagher in about a week, heading towards Carrick on Shannon, besides Lough Key do you recommend any other places of interest ?? Keep up the good work !

Hi Ger93, Glad you enjoy the vlogs, If the sun is out you should take a short detour into Carnadoe lakes. Really beautiful place. But there are no shops there so stock up first. There is a pub in Grange that does food Fri Sat & Sun. Hope you have a great holiday 👍

Hey hey! Was only down the Shannon for ur last video, Wanted to comment on ur vid but KZread wouldnt let me for some weird reason 😔 went down for 2 weeks from carrick to lough key, to lough allen, then down to athlone, and hit every jetty on the way back up! Was hoping we would have bumped into you guys haha! We go down every Yr for my bday, and it's become an ambition of mine to buy my own cruiser one day, and I would like to ask u some questions on owning your own boat, would love some feedback if u ever have the time to reply 😊 let me know and I can send u my email address 👍🏻
