I often think the same...but whether they know it or not they are documenting history and allowing people like us to see these moments...moments that would otherwise be lost to just words and stories. It will give generations a chance to see the beauty in Shane and the beauty of the Irish people ...for that I am grateful.

I’m only 22 and I find the amount of phones out to record just awful. I understand wanting to capture the moment but I do believe in time and place and just don’t think a funeral is an appropriate place to whip out a camera or phone. Weirdest thing ever ive been a pogues fan most my life i honestly didn’t know shane was in hospital..2 nights before he died i had a dream he was singing in a bar playing sick bed of cuchallan and his wife said if you dont come home your dinner will be in the bin 😂 and in my dream shane went back home .. the next morning i told my son then sent him a pogues video and he said you cant beat a bit of the pogues .. the next day newsflash was shane died i honestly cant believe that dream i wasn't even playing the pogues that day so god knows how he was in my dream and i swear i didn’t know he was poorly i thought he got outbof hospital... sadky missed wish more people listened to classics he wrote than label him the fairy tsle of new york singer absolutely a genius and good to see his friends look after his loving wife .bless them both legends

Some people just can’t be helped I’ve seen it so many times.. good people trying their absolute best to kick the drugs or alcohol. Some people just need it, unfortunately Shane was one them. No point disrespecting his friends and family when you know nothing about him or the people in his life

I'd say he wasn't into material things or looks. I know it's not common as there are so many plastic filled ppl and filler filled people and people parading thier wealth but I'd hazard a guess that he was more down to earth than all that. Hence the cheap looking wicker casket.
