On May 1st, 1946, 800 Aboriginal pastoral workers, from stations in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, went on strike for wages and conditions. Many argue it was the beginning of the Aboriginal Land Rights movement. The strike never really ended. When threatened with jail, Dooley Bin Bin asked the police, how much room they had in their jails because,
"We'll fill them all".
A truly inspirational Australian story.
I wrote and recorded the song, 'Clancy & Dooley & Don McLeod', for the Goanna Dreaming album in 2010.

Shane caught your excellent song live on Radio 774 Melbourne with Ben Knight 27/1/17, The Cirque De Soleil guy in the studio rightly said at the time said: "by the way that song Shane was mighty fine." Then I discovered the next day your 2010 album "Goanna Dreaming". So complete with every song a knockout! I have been playing it non stop ever since in the car and at home.
