I love that he looks like a casual hippy type. Relatable and humble. Non materialistic.

I love that Shane talked about thinking of who is living the gospel? For them at that time, that person was Mother Theresa. I’ve been asking myself that question a lot recently. Knowing the gospel, growing up in the church and looking around and seeing lives remaining the same. Many/most, maybe all the Christians I know live beautifully comfortable lives, relatively unchanged after finding salvation and I’ve been struggling with that. When I thought, who do I think is living out the gospel and Shane’s name popped into my mind.

I heard him speak a couple months ago. He’s an inspiration.

I remember when he came to our Parish. I just finished his book, that he and Johnathan wrote. I have had it and never had the time to read it until now. It is very powerful and based on the "OUR Father" prayer, and how he choses to live. What a Blessing and example for all of us to say "yes" and to live the gospel in our own lives. Just maybe God is waiting for us to say "Yes, Send Me".

He's like a modern day John the Baptist. God bless this man.

Brother Shane, thank you for your Christian witness. I love your speaking and writing. I long in my heart to live a simpler and Christ centered way. As an Anabaptist I find your theology, lifestyle and witness refreshing and hope filled.

Shane's not preaching the Gospel he's preaching a spiritualize social justice which isn't the gospel at all...the Gospel of Jesus Christ was about repentance, and stopping sinning, living Holy Life's... Social justice Christianity is not Christianity . . .if you never preach against sin, then your not Preaching Salvation, you can still do a lot of good works and still end up in hell for all eternity . . . Good works by themselves don't go further enough, you got a mingle it with a message of righteousness, and living a holy life...yes feed people, and give clothing to people, but also Warren people about sin, hell and a real devil...when you preach the gospel back it up with much scripture...if you are preaching but never talk about sin, and how it separate your soul from Christ then you're not preaching the biblical gospel... If you only preach feel good sermons you're somebody that needs to be run from fast...if you never preach sermons about Sin the end result of sin which is Hell death and the grave... Then you're not preaching a gospel from the scriptures...if you preach but never use the scriptures or have people open their Bibles to such and such chapters and you probably not preaching a biblically based sermon.

Finally a breath of fresh air. Thank you Jesus for this man.

What Shane Teaches isn't the Gospel but what is called Progressive Christianity, sinning is okay, their is no Hell, or Heaven, it's about all the social justice projects that you can do while you're still alive... because once your dead there is nothing else... Jesus was primarily just a good moral teacher... Christianity is simply a philosophy of moral living and doing good to your fellow man there's nothing else to it.

"Sola Scriptura" . . . Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, and 1 Timothy 1:9-10, Jude 1:7, Matthew 19:4-6 and Mark 10:6-9 Progressive Christianity is made up... It's more of a philosophy then the truth from the Bible...sin, is still sinful...you can't justify a sinful lifestyles, and say it's okay to be gay, if the Bible says it sinful....you can place more emphasis on social justice then repentance of sin. . .if you have no burden for the lost, and care more about there Happiness here, then their Salvation...then your not a believer in the Gospel of Salvation . . .your not promised tomorrow, you have life now, today is the day of salvation, you need to repent and made Jesus the Lord of your life.

There is a term I coined "Baptism of Urgency" If you drive pass a burning house and your the first one on the scene, you will get out your cell phone and out of in·stinct you will call 911 ....we see the situation and automatically we see the Urgency of the matter. We don't even think about making the 911 call, we just do it. If there's a car accident that we witness once again we don't hesitate to call 911, it's automatic, we just do it without giving it much thought. The Bible says that all have sinned and fallen short of the Kingdom of God, for the wages (payment) of sin is death. (eternally separated from God) but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus the Christ our Lord! I talk to a lot of confessing Christians that have no concern for the salvation of the lost. Many of these same people will tell me it's not there calling to witness or share there faith . . .I am not called to be evangelist , that's your calling not mine. If we only could see the urgency of the matter that a man will spend eternity in a friary hell if they don't get saved...faith comes by hearing the gospel Romans 10 :14 . . .God spoke the World into existence, Jesus is the Spoken Word of God, and we have to speak the gospel of salvation to people....it's not a choice, you have to do this. It's an Urgency, somebody's Eternal Destiny is in Jeopardy if they don't get saved. God has given us the words of life, but we have to speak them to other people. These peoples spiritual homes are on fire and we just drive by them watching them burn to the ground, doing very little. . .and all heaven just weeps. The problem is we are not really saved our self's many of us . . .Jesus said to Go into all the World and do what? Preach the Gospel of Salvation to everyone Mark 1615 . . .this is called the Great Commission. We need to pray to God for a Baptism of Urgency a broken con·trite heart. How can we say we are saved and not care if the world go's into eternity away from God. How can you not see the urgency of a mans eternal soul, repent and make Jesus the LORD of your life. We were bought with a price, we are not our own. The great commission is not the great suggestion. Your saved if you do the Will of the Father...Hodos!

I am at an old Cemetery looking at the graves. I'm thinking to myself that these people are wherever they're going to be for all eternity. These people have no more hope. They died in their sin or they were saved... we have choices still. How many of these people would made a different choice if they could come back. You and I can still make that right choice. Eternity is waiting. Jesus said he was the Way the Truth and the Life.... outside of Jesus being the Lord of your life there's only hell to pay. These folks in these Graves can't make any more choices, but you can.

I am sad,,,,I have read about this man....and he does not like DEATH PENALTY....I am sad because these people just like him have no voice for these governors who do not respect Human life...as DEATH PENALTY is also a killing....if they were Christians....just like this word means ....they would make an effort and will abolish it...

I agree, sin and the consequences shouldn't be danced around. But. I found showing people all the reasons we fell in love with God, and giving them the opportunity to choose Him out of love and awe, verses scaring them into following him, seems to be a better way.

At this point, I would follow Jesus even if it meant I was going to go to hell. I'm in love with Him, in awe of His love and His word. I desire to serve Him and attempt to honor him even a tiny fraction of what He deserves, because He is so amazing, so loving, because it is clear that He is my God.

This is directed towards them that it applies... If you don't preach against sin ...or quote Bible verses from the Bible...and don't encourage the body of Christ to be overcomers of sin, and to live righteously by faith in Christ Jesus...and you justify some things that the Bible clearly calls a sin...then your not saved! You are preaching a different Jesus not the one of the Bible. If your interested in a liberal agenda, and christianizing it by using christianese, Christian slang, from a modern Christian society.. .. ..and not Preaching the Gospel of Salvation, or preaching against sin, telling people what Jesus did on the cross, or telling them about Salvation by faith...that the blood can be applied to their hearts by faith and their sins can be washed away...your not very loving...this is the kindness thing you can tell a non-Christian...that outside of Salvation they will burn in Hell for all eternity... But you have to judge your circumstances first before you can make a decision what is the right way to go... Goodworks, without preaching against sin and repentance isn't Christianity. . .even Jesus said to repent...and be saved. You should probably reexamine the life and ministry of Jesus. The Jesus I read about in the Bible was personal and only judgmental to the religious leaders who thought they were better than everyone else. Jesus touched people who had diseases. He spoke respectfully to a scandalous woman. He wept at the tomb of a friend. He broke a rule to get someone out of trouble. He met leaders privately in the middle of the night. He washed the feet of His disciples, who were also rejected by society and religious leaders. He invited Himself to wild parties with notorious sinners. It seems like Jesus lived out a social justice Gospel and I read about a God who cared about the broken, hurting, and lost; those who were orphans, widows, refugees, sinners, and on the margins of society. He is a God of justice for those experiencing racism, classism, and sexism throughout the Bible. These are the people that Jesus spent the majority of time with. Yes, we need to help people recognize the consequences of sin and lead to salvation, but the Jesus I follow did this best within personal relationships with broken, rejected, and sinful people. The Gospel is more than just eternity in either Heaven or Hell. It is about helping people who are living in Hell on earth and helping them discover what Heaven is like by living it out here on earth: "May your will be done ON EARTH, as it is in heaven" (Matthew 6:10).

Shane's not preaching the Gospel he's preaching a spiritualize social justice which isn't the gospel at all...the Gospel of Jesus Christ was about repentance, and stopping sinning, living Holy Life's... Social justice Christianity is not Christianity . . .if you never preach against sin, then your not Preaching Salvation, you can still do a lot of good works and still end up in hell for all eternity . . . Good works by themselves don't go further enough, you got a mingle it with a message of righteousness, and living a holy life...yes feed people, and give clothing to people, but also Warren people about sin, hell and a real devil...when you preach the gospel back it up with much scripture...if you are preaching but never talk about sin, and how it separate your soul from Christ then you're not preaching the biblical gospel... If you only preach feel good sermons you're somebody that needs to be run from fast...if you never preach sermons about Sin the end result of sin which is Hell death and the grave... Then you're not preaching a gospel from the scriptures...if you preach but never use the scriptures or have people open their Bibles to such and such chapters and you probably not preaching a biblically based sermon.

He never talks about Sin and overcoming sin repenting of your sin for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God for the wages of sin is death. Shane never deals with a sin nature..of man. Sin is the dilemma... It will keep you out of heaven. John 3:3. Shane is preaching what some a had called new age Christianity...do what ever you want but just don't hurt any body oh yeah do a lot of good works...we are not saved by being social justice warriors... We are only saved by repenting of your sins...and putting your faith in Jesus like you would a parachute if you where going to jump out of a airplane, you can't just look at the parachute you have to put it on...Put on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved... Do all the good works Shane talks about but get saved first!!!!! You can do all the good works Shane talks about, but your good works are as filthy rags before holy and righteous God...works won't save you...you do good works after your saved. . . Rodney it's not what you are saying isn't true it's only partly true. This is an unnecessary polarization it's not either or its both. Saved by grace , through faith, not of works yes, but also living the reality of the Christ life, the outworking of genuine faith .
